I think Steve Nash for sure was also a problem in the playoffs because he didnt adjust anything during the series for KD and Kyrie offensively after realizing the Cs defended so well against KD in the first two games

I mean it’s pretty hard to adjust, they went for a big 3 with a vet min bench and they ended up having to trade one of the big 3’s for basically Seth Curry until next season. I think with Nash, he isn't fully to blame for the season. Nash partly, but there were other factors that played into Brooklyn's 7 seed standing. -Arguably, Kyrie being out for a majority of the year due to NYC laws and team decisions to not play him for a while really put more pressure on KD and Harden. -KD being injured, and even after Harden getting traded didn't leave many good players for Nets to play. -The timeline of injuries, including KD and Harris along with others really hurt them down the stretch. -Ben Simmons not being able to play post-trade also hurt them too.

I won't lie I traded Draymond and Iggy for Simmons and Claxton. Simmons is a younger Draymond for me. I average a triple double with him with 3 steals and 3 blocks a game and he just gave me 6 steals and 8 blocks in one game. Claxton gave me a triple double with 10 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks in 20 minutes of action. I'm very pleased with my trade even though I do miss Draymond and Iggy but both were old

BKN has some ammo this off season to make some moves. They can either take pick 23 or defer that to 2023 unprotected PHI 1st. I assume they’ll defer it bc it’s not a great draft and unprotected 1sts are good to have. Can’t be much worse than 23 next year anyway. Then they have that T8 protected PHI 1st way in the future. They could also trade like a 2028 swap if they wanted or even their 2029 1st. So they have picks. They also have an $11.4M traded player exception. I’m not sure if Patty Mills will opt in to his ~$6.2M PO, but if he does he is a trade piece just for salary purposes who a team could value as a bench shooter. Not gonna get much for him, like a 2nd, but he helps as salary filler. With Curry, Kyrie, Cam Thomas, Joe Harris, and Dragic they don’t need Patty. Then Brown is UFA. I assume they’ll re-sign him. He’s shown flashes of an improved 3P shot and decent passing along with great finishing at the rim. Literally 0% chance Brown gets 4/40 that’s absolutely absurd lol. He’s not getting more than like Caruso. He’s more of a 3/21 kinda guy I think. Maybe 3/24 at the most. Like who is gonna throw the full MLE at him? He’s worth more to BKN than rly any other team. So ya anywhere from TPMLE money (3/19) to like 3/24. I’m guessing 3yrs. If it’s 4yrs it depends if there’ll be a 4th year team option or non gtd. But ya 6-8M a year and 3yrs. Claxton is RFA with a tiny QO, like 2.2M? They kinda have to bring him back. He should be pretty cheap, and he’s young. 3/15 maybe for him? 3/18 tops? So ya BKN has a lot more flexibility than ppl prolly think. Obv they have to re-sign Kyrie. They’re not trading Ben. They need to hit big on their Taxpayer MLE with a guy like Otto Porter, get some good minimums, and then ideally they can package some picks to get a two way SF/PF or maybe even a big man that’s on an expiring making $11.4M or less. If they can have a roster of say: Kyrie, Cam Thomas, Dragic, Curry, Bruce Brown, Joe Harris, Gary Harris OR Otto Porter Jr, Simmons, KD, Claxton, Sharpe, Damian Jones, maybe like a Taurean Prince or Wes Matthews for the minimum, and a couple other minimums. They really need to hit on their minimums and TPMLE by bringing in two way players. Then depending on if they use their picks or not in the off-season, they’ll still have flexibility for near the deadline or past December 15th or w/e once Bruce Brown is movable and if Patty opts in. Also will still have traded player exception. If BKN gets Kyrie and KD to both play like 65 games at least, Ben like 55+ as long as he’s 100% for playoffs, Joe Harris stays healthy, and they bring in a couple guys like Wes Matthews, Gary Harris or Otto Porter, Danuel House. Decent two way guys like that added to a healthy Kyrie/Harris/KD/Simmons/Curry they should be able to build out a very legit 10 man rotation where they actually have 3 guys on the court who can defend and shoot at all times. Or at least not be massive negatives on D, and assuming they’re able to surround Ben with shooters he should make up for a lot of that defense. Something like Kyrie/Joe Harris/Otto Porter/KD/Simmons with Curry as 6th man, and like Wes Matthews, Damian Jones or Claxton whoever plays better, Bruce Brown, and one more two way guy maybe via trade. That could be a rly good 10-man rotation then you still have Cam Thomas and guys like that. I think they made a mistake letting Jeff Green walk bc he helped unlock the small ball lineups, but if they can get Otto that’d be massive. He was on the minimum for GSW, BKN can offer him 3/19 and he’d have a good role in BKN so. I’m not even a BKN fan I just find their situation interesting and was bored AF. Can’t sleep lol
