Also fun to note is how quickly survivors are to say gg when they win, but never when they lose. I play both sides, and have always noticed that killers say gg most games. I think that shows a lot of the mentality/sportsmanship of one side even with stuff like that. I think another big problem with why survivors have a much easier time doing well is that they never have to learn a new way to play for each killer with only a couple exceptions. So people who only spend survivor just get better and better, but most killer players want to play more than one, and that time to master it is split up for 0 reward because survivors of equal skill are on a higher footing than you.

If the killer wins they always say "gg", just like survivors in my experience. It's not the sides, it's the people behind them. You typically want to write "gg" when you lose to show good sportmanship, unless you want to tell them "good game but only because I won"

@@lfr234 I've never complained about them saying gg? I just said that I've never seen them saying it. All I said is that as survivor, I always see killers give a gg regardless of match outcome, and as killer I give a gg whether I win or lose. As killer, survivors in all of my games say nothing or say the typical "tunnel, camp, etc" when losing, but I've only ever seen a "gg" from survivors losing twice in my entire time playing the game. I'm commenting that they aren't being good sportsman because they don't say it lol. In case I need to make it a bit more clear, I'm saying that survivors never say gg unless they win, and players that play killer typically say gg every match.

@@lukejaffray2518 you split the ranks into two or three tiers. Low tier survivors are given DH and BT as a game mechanic and potentially only need to do 4 gens. Mid tier game remains as is. High tier. Survivors must do 6 gens and killer gets ruin as a base game mechanic that you can’t cleanse. I’m not saying these exact changes will fix everything. But the concept is you make it easier at the start because it is hard for survivors but you also make it easier for killers at the high end because as this gameplay illustrates it’s virtually impossible at the high end. No reason why you couldn’t implement this. And obviously which tier you are in is the result of your team average

I'd have two things. 1st Low tier should be still 5 gens because killers are there for a reason too. 2nd High Tier shouldn't have base kit ruin for 6 gens. The problem here is that you can reach red ranks fairly easy. It would be more balanced I think if ruin would kick in after 3 gens are done.

Thanks for posting. Makes me feel much better about similar games I have had. And I am no where near as efficient a killer. But it just feels like it’s maths. Killer goals are way longer than survivors. I mean point me to the mistakes made in the above game. I didn’t see any of note. The game is completely imbalanced at the high end. Unfortunately I’ll acknowledge it’s too hard for survivors at the low end. Game needs a hardcore killer mode, hardcore survivor mode or split the game mechanics between higher and lower ranks. 4 gens at low rank and you get free DH and BT. High end it’s 6 gens and killer gets built in ruin. Or something to that effect that addresses the imbalance between top and bottom

Okay the following mistakes were made: He chased a claudette sprint bursting to a corner of the map where a blocked gen was in the very beginning.. while she was not asleep. Seeing her run their he shouldnt even have tried to follow her. A waste of corrupt intervention. Secondly. Chasing around main building after a healthy survivor that showed to you that they are competent. Thirdly. Not preparing snares at the beginning at main building. He played his freddy completely braindead. Just spamming snares at loops once people actually looped them. Fourthly... AGAIN chasing a healthy claudette at the corner of a map in an intact jungle gym where there is one gen that hasnt even been touched yet while someone is on a hook next to a gen that already got tinkered in shack.. Fifthly.. Why would you use tinkerer.. if you just teleport braindead to the gen instead of faking the teleport and catching an awake survior that is running away from the gen that doesnt hear any terror radius. As you see a lot of mistakes were made. Do I say that I would have done it better? No. But dont pretend he just lost bc of swf. He lost bc of the mistakes he made and bc of the survivors playing very well individually.

@@lfr234 have you watched any competitive play ? Come back when you have. I’m not even going to respond to the guy below. It’s not about being a fan boy. I like Trues content but no more than many others. He’s not a perfect killer but he’s someone who plays at a top level and plays very efficiently. Dowsey is another very strong killer. They all get destroyed by competitive teams (see either of their games vs Oracle). Survivor teams in comp are severely restricted in their perk choices and it still doesn’t matter. 1k is seen as a win for killer. If you can’t workout the imbalance at top level then you need to take a basic maths course. 5 gens can be done much quicker than 12 hooks. And I appreciate you pointing out Trues mistakes though I’m not confident they are all accurate. The overall point is balance. If you think 4 true lvl survivors won’t destroy 1 true lvl killer every time then I’m sorry but you have a very poor understanding of the game mechanics involved. Look at Dowsey current survivor hardcore challenge. 1-20 with survivors each having a single life. They haven’t lost anybody yet.

Sometimes you’re just outplayed. Sometimes people are better at something-a game-than you are. Sometimes they’re more strategic, sometimes they’re more intelligent or clever or adaptable. That doesn’t mean a mechanic is broken. As was pointed out Tru3 made several mistakes (like, a lot) that cost him the match.

This is the "Tru3" nature of the game. Like seriously there was nothing Tru3 could have done to even safety pip. If he just kept juggling gens he would never down anyone and if he chased then of course they just do the gens its ridiculous. He couldn't even secure the kill because with perfect body blocks + borrowed + insta heal medkits its pretty much impossible. GGs keep sharing your voice Tru3. He made a lot of mistakes. He didnt use his perks well (e.g. chasing a claudette at a jungle gym with a blocked gen wasting corrupt) He was not using his power well (e.g. Not preparing snares at the start at main building, braindead spamming snares even though he realised the survs are good, braindead using his teleport not faking it to catch survivors running of the gen) Apart from that he was on a tough map with tough rng and these survivors were INDIVIDUALLY very good and didnt make much mistakes. Nothing.. NOTHING of that had to to with swf. That safe in the end is in my opinion already out of bounce as it is after he already lost the game

Also alleviates endgame camping since survivors are not gonna open exit gates until everyone is unhooked forcing the killer to open them himself, making more counter-play and team work on survivor side.

Oracle trained hours of hours of hours together and individually to have perfect callouts and a strategy as a team aswell as adapting in certain situations. These guys have approximately 5k hours each. The usual swf does not have good callouts does not have perfect communication and isnt even aiming for that. If you play a lot of surv you will realise.. that the games you win are the games where people are individually very good. I play with a lot of friends that are in green or yellow ranks just for fun and we lose a lot of matches. As it does not matter how much comms you have if you go down in 20 seconds XD Stop blaming swf XD

@Krioque I get teams like this. Guess what the only option is? 4 man slugging, not hooking till everyone is slugged, and having to camp the slugs while theyre on the ground. Thats the most effective way, but even that doesnt always work. One has to be playing spirit or nurse to even have a chance. Iv used that strat before with my huntress and hag tho and it works 50/50. Issue is that then all the survs cry and complain about slugging when that literally the only way to win certain matches. Look up some of team oracles matches. Even against the best of the best, they are almost always untouchable. The killer is suppose to have the power role.

I agree that swf can be op, but you need to stop generalising it because not every swf is op. If 4 good players play together with communication then it is difficult to go against as killer. However there can be swfs consisting of 4 weak players, or a swf that doesn’t have communication. Going against a top tier swf is difficult, but top tier solo queue players are also difficult to play against, but normally killers just assume they were swf. I’ve had times before where I’ve solo queued and been accused of being in a swf, and I’ve had times where I’ve been in a swf and all 4 of us have died with maybe 1 gen done. Generalising ‘swf’ makes swf an easy excuse to use, and makes people think that every swf are super strong coordinated players.

His turning is limited, so there are corners you can get to where he can't hit you. Additionally, Oni players have to preturn to actually have a chance to get you at a loop, which potentially can lead you to just running away from the loop to another loop if available because he actually can't see you at times. A lot of his power boils down to 50/50s as well, so baiting and figuring out what he's going to do should allow you to extend a loop.

Exactly why I don't play this game as killer. Sure it's possible to win against swfs.... If you're playing one of the three meta killers (nurse, spirit, blight or just an extremely good hillbilly/oni) with the meta build (corrupt, pop, ruin, tinkerer), are good at the killer in general and play sweaty as fuck. Is that fun? I play swf, and I will say this: This game is WAY too easy when playing in a swf. 95% of our comms are just banter, the rest is calling out shit like when the killer is chasing or where the hex totem is and who is doing a gen/going for a save. So, you're a killer, a menacing towering beast... who gets bullied by 4 spoiled brats who got dragged into the almighty entitys realm, a literal god with its own realm where the odds are meant to be stacked against you... makes sense, right? They need to do something. You either sweat and play the top killers for any chance at winning or you get fucking stomped on. And to those who say "but you don't play against swfs often!!": When mmr comes out, swfs are gonna be literally the only thing you play against if your mmr is high. And as we know, most swfs are toxic and in general unfun to play against. I wish you all killer mains some buffs and a LOT of sanity to play against toxic players and swfs especially.

"go down by these lockers." etc. the game isnt balanced around the concept of cross map communication. if you think chat doesn't make a massive impact, you're lying to yourself. literally any game is massively affected by the addition of comms. the devs didn't add voice for a reason, and anyone with a basic understanding of the macrogame can see why.

Then (I think she was the one starting it or if not, she was the one who highlighted it) Scott's girlfriend accuse True of mocking disabled people when he talked with a funny voice of a dumb comment. Like we all have done. Maybe it wasn't the smartest thing to do on stream but hey, he wasn't being disrespectful against disabled people. This false accusation made him lose his partnership with DBD as a fog whisperer (Probably amongst other reasons that I don't know of). And then it has been some back and forth, some streamer tried to downplay True by imitating him. It is what I've gathered and it's extremely oversimplified.

It’s always nice to see Tru3 malding after being handed a loss. He claimed in this video that the survivors were toxic but I fail to see what they did wrong. They were efficient on gens, smart on loops and pre left when tinkerer was active. They didn’t Macro at pallets and body blocking at the end is what anyone would do. Just face it, you had those perks on Freddy and only got a couple states. How about you give this fantastic team some credit and admit you lost because you couldn’t catch them? I think if anything this shows how strong holding W is. Those survivors ran away early from gens when Freddy went to teleport to them which causes a massive time waste. As Freddy, you can't commit to ANY of these survivors because even if you can beat them in a chase in 30 seconds, you still have to spend 20 seconds catching up to them. Add in the time to taking them to a hook and gens will pop left, right, and center off of one chase. It makes me suspect that Freddy was always overrated and any killers that mainly move at M1 killer speeds aren't good enough to beat good teams. Killers that ignore survivor mechanics and are ultimately faster than the survivors like Nurse and Blight will always be the best options.

I think that this is an insight that a lot of the comments bashing True's play are missing. The build was given to him by chat, the killer has a vulnerability, and the survivors had the means to exploit it. It was a total no-win scenario. Camp a hook? Gens get done and the rest escape, same result that happened anyway. Commit to more chases? Gens don't get pressured, they pop, he loses then, too. Juggle gens, maintain pressure? It's what he did, but because he struggled to catch up to them, the game didn't progress towards kills, and he lost. I genuinely have no idea how this build on this killer against this team on this map would ever result (optimistically) in more than a 2k, and I feel that's really generous to the killer side.

@@Talguy21 Ruin would've done better but the issue with Ruin ofc is that it is ultimately unreliable. It can be a dead perk 20 seconds in the game that did nothing. The spawns are also still very bad for totems on the re-worked maps (they didn't touch the spawns at all it seems) so it would've been found fairly fast and cleansed. Really there is no other gen regression perk besides Ruin that helps you with this sort of situation. He had 2 keep in mind: Pop and Eruption, and they both combo together and are quite good. Realistically for a build like this to work, he needs to be getting fast downs which the survivors were good at denying by just holding W early. When I'm killer versus a team like this I know I'm in for it because the survivors clearly are sweating to win and know how to win.

I really think it's a good idea to nerf the survivors in general, but buff the soloQ. Scott Spun Jund suggested adding a ping system to the survivors like "I'm going to save" "I'm fixing here", etc. Instead, for example, you can reduce the speed of repairing gens.

But the whole point is that, were this "real life" there would be no way to communicate verbally without the risk of the killer hearing you. The game includes two hand gestures specifically because limited communication was meant to be part of the game from the very beginning. SWF is the equivalent of telepathic communication, which as has been pointed out, effectively gives the benefits of multiple perks. The answer isn't to buff solo queue. Solo queue, no comms is what the core game is based around. It's SUPPOSED to be that difficult. The ideal would be to eliminate SWF altogether, but that will never happen. So the next best thing is to balance the game to compensate for survivors with, essentially, more than four perks. It's going to suck a lot for solo queue, but if the game is balanced around comms, then maybe some sort of in game comms can be added, I guess.

Survivors blow through gens in a few minutes and the killer is lucky if he can camp one sacrifice out of the game. Making things easier for survivors misses the point entirely. It exacerbates the problem and, at best, would result in hour long survivor queues because only the most masochistic players would ever play killer. Most likely, an overall buff to survivors at this point will kill the game entirely. Balance needs to shift toward killers.

The argument isn’t “people shouldn’t be punished for playing together” that’s a strawman that’s easier to defeat then the actual argument of “swf gives an inherent competitive advantage, how do we change that.” It’s also a very weak strawman because people who legitimately play this game casually don’t care about ranks or winning so any changes they receive they wouldn’t notice. The speed in which they do things combined with the fact that there’s multiple of them means that, as long as they don’t massively misplay, they will win every time. No amount of strategizing on the killers part can change these fundamental facts. That’s why I don’t like your “subjective” argument. You live in a bubble that skill comes out on top, but look at high level and nurses can barely get 1 kill in tournament play. And then you defend swf, a blatant competitive advantage, with the “they just want to have fun with friends strawman” which again they don’t care about winning if they’re just in it to goof around. It’s honestly retarded how everyone complains about SJW but the community is too lazy to push the devs to do something about it. 4vs1 in a ranked mode is unfair specially at high ranking/mmr so it should be limited to duos at red ranks. Competitive games limit stacking to make matches more fair I don’t see why dbd can’t do the same.

While true, having good communication allows the survivors to be much more efficient in doing gens and saving each other. Any survivor not being chased was on a gen. When a survivor did eventually go down, they could send as few people as necessary to save. They could keep the others apprased of the chase status and rough position of the killer so that new targets got as much of a head start as possible. The base numbers might very well be problematic, but communication in a game like DbD is an extremely powerful force multiplier. Information is tied to survivor perks for a reason, after all.

Game balanced around casuals, since we are in mmr dbd, assuming you're playing competitive, if you don't play the most busted things on either side, losing is a high probability, either way just try to have fun, it's a game after all.

i understand why people don’t want swf to get nerfed. they don’t want to feel like they’re punished for playing with friends. game is just more fun with friends. and a lot of them come into the game and goof around. they end up throwing for crazy flashlight saves or head on plays or sabos. but when they commit to gen efficiency like this swf did…that’s a problem i fortunately. and frankly i don’t understand stacking a swf with 4 players with thousands of hours to just do gens and get out. especially when the killer is actually playing pretty chill. i’m not a killer apologist by any means but we complain about killers camping and tunneling and playing dirty but then when we get a good one what do 99% of people playing survivor do? rush gens and leave. what a waste
