This is some amazing work! Bringing what are already the absolute best optics reviews around to the next level. Looks like this was a ton of work, but the outcome is spectacular. Did you set it up in a way that makes switching to mrad and back up reasonably easy?
@CDOES4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! I appreciate it. I have a mini series ill be posting to my Patreon of the behind the scenes. The only thing I would need to do is make another target for a MOA scope. swap it back and forth and thats it!

Great video, thanks for taking the time. Did SWFA get back to you on why the 12x scope wasnt as crisp, in comparison to the others?
@CDOES4 жыл бұрын
I honestly havent reached out to them about it yet. I wanted to ensure that it wasnt just something i was doing wrong. Clearly, it isnt as sharp as the other 4. Yet it tracks perfectly.

awsome information I have the 10x and dont have any tracking issues wonder if it's a quality control thing 🤔.

Are you calling the direction the reticle moves on screen, or the knob input direction? If the knob, the reticle should move opposite, correct?
@CDOES4 жыл бұрын
You are correct. Im calling it how the reticle will move on the target. Typically, knobs will move the bullet impact towards the cross hair.

Awesome video!!! I just got a few Swfa’s on black Friday sale. Question tho. What’s the math to build this test for me at home? If not to complicated to put here.
@jeffbadger462 Жыл бұрын
Do the same test with the 2000.00 + scopes and see how they do please.

These are awesome scopes, great glass unless your a real picky guy, but I have a bunch of them, 10 x and 20x 42, fixed power and rear focus . Very funny how you are off .1 mil sometime and others not, then back to 0, I've tested mine at 100 meters, with a tracking target and the weapon in a vise. they all track perfect and return to 0 every time. Probably why the military uses them for snipers, or did. Loved the video and like to know how you made the target at the range you used, simple math I believe. thx for all the work and video.

How well do these hold up to ar15 recoil? Being a semi auto does it mess with them any?
@nomad54544 жыл бұрын
watch tiborasaurusrex review he really beats them up on his review but to answer your question the hold up just fine.
@rhabenic4 жыл бұрын
apparently they'll hold up to .50BMG, so I think any one of them should be fine with .223/5.56
@ddyoder3 жыл бұрын
Fixed power scopes, especially these SWFA designs, are inherently rugged and fine for air guns, 50 BMGs, SCARs, etc. as they are overbuilt and have less lenses than scopes with adjustable magnification

Looks like the 10x just has some lash, but is accurate when taken up. The 16x clicks are a tiny bit fat.
@CDOES4 жыл бұрын
Correct. But the lash will still be in play if you dont know exactly which direction to move it to take up the slack. the 16x is a bit 'fat' but splitting hairs less than .1 mil clicks.

This is the first time I've seen any tracking issues with an swfa scope. it's probably just the one you have LOL everyone else's works correctly

Build your dope table to work with your scope and rifle. If its off by a bit it will not matter as long as its repeatable.

Besides who the hell dials in windage on a 10 x scope
@JoeWayne842 жыл бұрын
I mean you could … but you have 5 mils of adjustment in the reticle haha so you shouldn’t ever need to under normal usage..: hell my leupold has the windage turret covered just for this reason. But with a 10x you can easily take shots out to 1000meters I rarely ever use for than 12x for anything I do only reason for more magnification is spotting hits at range but for seeing bullet flight and impacts you want to not be zoomed in to much. 10x is really prob the sweet spot for most shooters can easily focus in on targets within 50 meters and still have enough magnification to reach as far as any modern firearm is really effective anyways
