SWFL Eagles 5-1-24. Adorable Moments with E23 in the Nest Tree; Evening Pond Visit!

Video opens with E23 arriving at the nest tree. I include almost the entire visit, since E23 looked adorable in the early evening light, perched on the inner branch, all the trees in the background. E23 is pestered by a shrike.
E23 leaves for the pond. At the pond, E23 wades into the water, getting several sips during the visit. E23 hustles up the bank, flying out of the pond area and cam view. Later, E23 roosts in the nest tree as the sun is setting. Time stamps below, if interested. Click on any time stamp to advance to that part.

Interesting link you posted about European Starlings. I really enjoy seeing them swarm here during the fall/winter months. However, I prefer they fly right past my house. lol Those brave little shrikes just won’t let up. E23 should take a lesson from Mom and hide. TYVM Androcat 💜🦅💜

@PriscillaD225. YW🙂. The starlings are adorable, but compete for food resources and nesting spots with our native birds 😕. Once the shrikes start nesting, it is definitely time to find better perch spots. 💜
