SWFL Eagles_ E23 At Yonder Pond "Cove" 04.16.24

"Where oh where" has E23 been when out of cam view? Well, this morning I found E23 at Yonder Pond, or as I call it Yonder Pond Cove. When I arrived to the nest this morning, no eagles were in sight. E23 was seen on cam yesterday in the Yonder Pond area so I went over there and walked through the brush at the west end of YP (Yonder Pond). This is the only undeveloped area remaining behind the shopping center and although small, is quiet with plenty of pond water and trees. A perfect exploring spot for a young juvenile. And there was E23 walking on the ground, dipping its' tail in the water and finding 'buried' treasure at the edge of the pond. (I have heard this small patch of Yonder Pond is to remain undeveloped and belongs to the Eagle Landing shopping center.) It was delightful to watch E23 here and then see him fly to a nearby pine tree before taking off to explore another area. As I write this description, E23 has come back home to his/her natal nest as of 1:35pm. It is good to see E23 on cam again too. E23 is 107 days old today.

Miss Vicki, I'm so glad you were able to find E23 at Yonder Pond. He/she spends little time at the nest these days. He's eaten many rabbits like the one that hopped by at 17:34, but is a long time away from grabbing one, even road kill. Bless you for doing this for us.

Wow yonder pond🎉😮 i did not know they had another pond close they can fly to. No wonder we dont see them at nest tree pond all the time... They have other nice places to go to. Its like multiple vacation spots for them to enjoy😅❤ wow ! I did not know until now about younder pond. Good to know❤ thanks vucki i needed to smile 😅

Thank you vicki you have no idea how much i needed to see your video🎉 I've had health issues in pain and i watch E23 to try to distract me from pain. Well not seeing E23 and not knowing where M15 F23 E23 and lost. Very concerned nest tree from hurricanes open up alot giving intruders owls pesky birds more opportunity to bother E23 ... The area looks nice except traffic whizzing by too fast😢 miss the Eagles❤❤❤

It is a very large retention pond for water runoff from the shopping center. 😊

Hi Vicky another season, a successful one and since yesterday a began to develop empty nest syndrome. Even though we don't know the sex of E23, for me she is female and I hope she stay at least another week. As always TY..

Thank you Vicki for this awesome morning video of E23 and a quick shot of F23 too.🦅🦅❤️. It was so kind of you to ask to go to the Yonder Pond and find E23. She seems to be enjoying it over there too. However, you had mentioned that it’s a non-building safe Eagle and basically all wildlife safe place for our Eagles, Eaglet Juvies, and other animals to go to but however, if it’s a safe and protected non-building area around the Pond then why are there homes there? Were the homes there in the beginning when it was made to be a safe non-building place for the Eagles and birds? To me, it doesn’t look like too much space for the Eagles to go but up onto peoples homes roof tops and yards which I really do fine it pretty scary cause you never know if someone will want to hurt them. It’s just the reality that I’m looking at. E23 is most definitely enjoying her freedom and loves to soar in the sky too.🥰🦅❤️. I do always pray for this precious Eagle family every single night. I have to admit that I do miss seeing E23 at night but however, I’m sure she is much safer where she is roosting at night instead of the home nest where those pesky Owls can be so relentless.☹️🙄. The area at the end of Yonder Pond is not the Enclaves property (name of the housing development company). The ‘Cove’ area is beyond there. I have no way of knowing if M or F are right there by E23 at night but I know they know where he/she is and are watching.

I saw a video 2days ago. I wasn't around during e21 and e22. M was on the branch for 20 mins. Quietly just relaxing. Some say it was one of his offspring . Do they comeback to visit. Sorry about Harriet. E23 looks like them.
