Thanks, Vicki! Beautiful morning shots of the full moon & of our proud and amazing Harriet & M15. We must trust the Eagles as they don’t seem to be worried about E17 & E18… and rightly so as they both were so well prepared to face their continued journey from Juvenile to Eagle Adults! 💞🦅🦅🦅🦅💞

It has been an amazing season. The purpose of E17 and E18 is made even more powerful by what they have overcome. CROW healed their eye condition, M15 and Harriet overcame GHO attacks early on to bring the eaglets into their development. The things and obstacles that the Outer Ring of Angels has protected them against too. E 17 and E18 have been diligently and lovingly prepared, and are ready to thrive. They may come back, or not, but let the spirit of protection be with them either way. If they have left it is the hope that E17 and E18 met somewhere in the northerly skies, and are now side by side again. Let the spirit of E3 , E5, Ozzie and E14 watch over you with each dusk and dawn chortle. TYSM. Vicki.

I miss you precious babies. You are my first Eagle family. So lucky to have watched you both grow to beautiful teens. Each with there own personality. Esp. the fact that E17 was a male and E18 grew into a big girl!!! Surprised! One big beautiful girl and one handsome boy. Well done H & M well done my babies!! Still crying..it's not knowing if they are safe and fed..that is the hardest part. If I knew I could let go.....love you E17 & E18!

What first began as a very unique season, with #E16 hanging out much longer than usual and H & M starting a new nest and then focusing again on the "home" nest once #E16 finally went on their way, has ended as a very successful and wonderful season after all. You wonder if #E17 & #E18 will travel together at least for a while, they seemed to be very close... Fly high, Fly safe wherever you may go. Thank you Vicki for EVERYTHING you do. God bless.

@marypritchett115
@marypritchett115 3 жыл бұрын
Possible but not likely. This is the normal age for juvies to leave their parents. Eagles do not need to be taught to hunt any more than kittens must be trained to pounce. It is inherent in their dna. They know how to steal food and they have been introduced to all sorts of different kinds of food. That is all they need. The rest comes naturally. 😃
@KiwiKiwi902
@KiwiKiwi902 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you@@marypritchett115 That is what I needed to hear. I was worrying because the mortality is 50% the first year. I know there is plenty of food there. This gives me great comfort coming you, as this has been your life as well over the years with Harriet and M15 . They picked your serene beautiful property to make their home! You are so blessed. God Bless you and take care!!
@wskrsnwings
@wskrsnwings 3 жыл бұрын
tschouten1, it is possible, but most likely they have left their natal area. The E's will be around other eagles, watching them hunt and try it on their own too. But their main source of food the first year is stealing from others and eating roadkill.
@wskrsnwings
@wskrsnwings 3 жыл бұрын
@@marypritchett115 actual hunting is learned, and takes practice and skill. You are correct that they know to steal and find roadkill to eat and learned well about stealing wilen they were still here.

Are the eaglets being safe at this age and can they hunt on their own?
@wskrsnwings
@wskrsnwings 3 жыл бұрын
Soraya Nazarian, both are very good flyers and have encountered many different things and done well. So we all hope they remain safe. As far as hunting on their own, first year juveniles mainly survive stealing food from others and eating roadkill while they attempt to catch things on their own. They also learn to hunt watching others and following others to adequate food sources.
