SWFL Eagles_ Checking Out Familiar Places ISO (In Search Of) E23 And M15 & F23 05.07.24

E23 was last seen Friday (5/3/24) afternoon at 2:36pm flying east from the pasture pond and nest area. E23 was 124 days old when last seen. This age is our average dispersal date at the SWFEC nest. E23 was more than ready in survival skills, confidence and independence Friday and I am happy for him/her to have started his/her own life as an eagle. We, as well as other nests, have had hatch year juveniles return again after being away for a short period but we shall see if this is case with E23. So I went this morning to check for E23 a few familiar places surrounding the territory. It was quietly beautiful every place I checked. I did not see or hear E23 at Yonder Pond, to the SW behind the shopping center, to the E and NE past Daugherty's Creek or to the NW power poles. I did see M15 perched on the NW power poles before flying east out of sight. And I saw F23 perched in the Norfolk pine across the road and east of the church. Fly free and strong E23. I will miss you.

It's bittersweet when our eaglet goes off on its life journey. Thanks to M15 and F23, we can be cheered knowing that E23 has been well cared for, is in good condition, and comes from good eagle stock. I’m with you in always having a broken heart for these Eagles (especially with Harriett and M15). It’s always so bittersweet. I pray we do see E23 one more time too. Vicki you were the lady my daughter said "come see this lady, she watches Eagles". I did and that started my love of Eagles. Always thought they were Majestic but watching them through you made them so real. I could tell right from the gitgo bow much you loved them especially HARRIET. When I switched that day and she hadn't come back I felt so scared. I thought of how you must of felt.....you just fill me up with joy watching the eagles and even the owl family ( you love and understand their ways and taught that too!) I have lost my official " Top Fan" . I will work back up to that but with or without the badge I am and will always be your TOP FAN.

I have been watching since Season 1, and this is the most difficult year for me as I have lost my last direct living relative on my mother's side of the family, my late Aunt Yonia Demp. She knew I loved watching the eagle cams, but was in no condition to watch. In a small way you are like a surrogate mother to me, though I am soon to be 65. I look forward to your nest visits during the Summer, and good health and safety to you and anyone you are close to.

It's been special for all of us as we witnessed a new mom having her first baby, a good thing there was just e23, even if the loss of the second chick was terrible. Ty for looking, Vicki! Lovely old trees, great tour! But if E23 was around, she would have come picked up the food mom and dad brought for her. Everyone's so calm about it! I haven't really processed her leaving yet, distracted, and I'd rather not. I thought she might be back a little, too. Days without her are so strange. Without the rhythm of the whole family. What an incredible season! A healing season. M got right back in the game and did himself proud again. I hope you are ok, dear E23. Enjoy your brand new life, all the places your great wings take you. My 2 persistent memories are the pipping storm, when M incubated all night in the driving rain and wind, and Mom mombrella'd you both. And your tiny white baby talon resting on your favorite place, Mom's foot. Wasn't that just yesterday? Soar high and strong, I think nobody will mess with you! Have lots of E's, wish we could see, but such is the plight of a bird auntie. The ultimate letting go experience! I love you all, M, Mom, E23 (and Harriet, who helped make this season a success by teaching M, who was no doubt excellent anyway!). Onward to next season... ❤️🦅🦅 🦅

My heart breaks every year. I found this nest by accident for E15 and E16. I cried when they left. I cried when E17 and E18 went for help. I cried when all of them went on their journey. I bawled my eyes out when our Queen Harriet disappeared. I rejoiced when Mighty M15 did a bang up job with the last brood. It took a bit for me to accept F23, but I did. But, life goes on, and I weep and rejoice in E23. Fly high, little one! We all love you.

Excellent video Vicki👍🏻🥰❤️🦅. It was so awesome to see (I’m pretty sure) Magnificent15 and it could have possibly been him in that one tree at the end of your videos too but I could be wrong. I have to say that it was such an awesome feeling to know that Magnificent15 and LadyF23 are still in the area and it could be just possible too that E23 might still be there but not in sight. Possibly with the parents some of the time but might be gone onto her journey. I did giggle when you asked the Shrike if it knew where E23 was.😂😂👍🏻. I’m sure that bird would never tell anyone where E23 is and maybe the Shrike doesn’t know and E23 is hiding from it so she doesn’t get attacked again. I’m so very pleased how the rest of this season had gone. LadyF23 did an awesome job at being mommy to her baby, Magnificent15 as always, was one super awesome daddy to E23 too and also a great teacher and example too to LadyF23 in the beginning of the season and after E23 was hatched. I’m definite thet the next season will be super awesome with Magnificent15 and LadyF23. LadyF23 will for sure (I think) will be boss of the nest cause she will be more confident then too. She has done magnificent the rest of this year. Hope you will be able to give put videos during the summer after the cams are taken down so we can see if M15 and F23 are still flying around there and at the nest too. God bless E23 wherever she is and mom and dad too. It would be so cool if we could see a not so quick fly by from E23 before her absolute final flight away into her future. E23 was last seen (by the cams) leaving from the office oak a few days ago. I imagine it was her freedom flight. 🥲💓 Mom & dad will probably be laying low for a little bit due to their season of uncomfortable molting like they did last year around this time.🦅💞🦅

Hi Tmtts! I forgot about the molt beginning now. It leaves all our birds vulnerable without their full plumage to defend themselves. I lost a resident cardinal to an attack from someone's pet cat just last year. Melancholy time for me 😔 Gosh ttmtt >love all the raptors, but my backyard buddies captivate me each day from dawn till dusk🤗 Grateful to have them 😘 Sending good wishes your way my friend! 🌱

This season did seem to pass quickly. Last season was so full of drama that it seemed twice as long. The loss of Harriet, the low odds of little Es surviving. That predictor didn't know the great, magnificent M-15. This is my 3rd season.

Where do M15 F23 go for summer? Where do you think E23 went off to? Season went quickly😮 unfortunately i spent weeks in HOSPITAL 2024 still in and out. I missed alot with E23 F23 not like Harriet who i miss😢 M15 not hanging alot in nest tree😮 sleeping etc 😮
