Swift nest box - review and installation

Hi Barbs. No swifts yet I’m afraid . My wife saw some above the house in the sky last week so they are back in the UK. We had one nest in a hole in the window frame near the swift box about 5 years ago. I need to play swift sounds to encourage them

Ok a couple of things going on here. If you have since got Swifts, good for you. But what I can see wrong with the box is the following...1. Hole is too small mine is 65 x 35mm and it's still a tight squeeze for them. 2. Hole placement is completely wrong, once at the hole there is a drop down into the box. Swifts have very small\short legs so it'll be a crash down going in and a struggle to climb out once in. Hole should be level with the floor. 3. The width of the floor itself is way to narrow for a Swift to sit comfortable on the nest. 4. There is no nest cup. So as a whole I think that box is not suitable for Swifts.
