Swift or Spacious? 2019 Suzuki Swift 1.2 Attitude vs 2019 MG ZS - Lloyd Vehicle Consulting

Whilst we messed around with our sub £500 Santa Pod Birthday Challenge sntrants the other day, Mr Ben Quirk from Planet Auto and I also decided to compare the two modern cars we have had on test this week, a 2019 Suzuki Swift 1.2 Attitude and a 2019 MG ZS 1.0 Turbo Exclusive Automatic.

To make the comparison fair, we decided to base it on the mid range MG ZS, which is the 1.5 Exclusive manual at £14045. The Suzuki Swift Attitude costs just under £15000, whereas the MG ZS 1.0 Turbo Exclusive Automatic is just over £18000, hence why we made the adjustment. Expect lots of back seat comparisons, Back to the Future T-shirts, discussions on Euro NCAP safety ratings and other general automotive hijinks... Nothing untoward, then!

Yes, I would agree with that! They are very different, but each have some very strong points.

When I look for used cars now they aren't far off the price they actually were in these old videos. It pains me to pay today's used prices.

Like your review the mg is fantastic value for money and all the tec as standard a great suv . The swift attitude is a very good looking very reliable and fun to drive little hatchback I owned a swift attitude for 5 years and loved it but ive recently exchanged it for a sz5 swift in speedy blue 🔵

I think I had completely forgotten I had filmed this back in 2019! It's not a great video, it was done in something of a hurry.... You can still buy a new ZS today with this engine and transmission (albeit a facelifted one), and the new generation Swift has just been launched. Once again, I think they are about the same price. I also drove a Swift Sport of this generation in 2022, and it was great!

Yes, absolutely! It's funny what a budget of £14-15,000 buys you these days, isn't it? Both very good value for money indeed, much cheaper than some direct competitors I could mention.
