today i am going to be reacting to unpopular opinions about taylor swift!!
i’ve been creating a lot of videos recently about taylor swift theories and predictions with the re-recording process. someone commented this idea on one of those videos and it seemed like it would be fun to go through and react to some of y’all’s opinions about taylor and her music.
i didn’t know what i was expecting, but some of you are really bold hahaha making fighting statements that could be pretty controversial LOL. remember that this is all in good fun and that every one is entitled to their own opinions. we all love taylor so much and identify with different songs, albums and eras :)

Those are my least favourite Taylor Swift albums. I hope she never returns to that indie folk coffee cafe singing music ever again, her voice in those albums are lullaby songs that make me fall asleep. Country pop is my favourite genre for her to sing.

I get that, but at the same time I love folklore/evermore. Originally I almost hated them and would only listen to her country, but they grew on me and I’ve learned to love them for their writing and melodic qualities. And I can’t say that debut is her worst album either. For me, I love all her music equally, but in different ways I guess?

RED is her least "sonically cohesive" álbum and that's why is my favorite, she's between genres. You really feel every single song and its meaning. There's sadness, love, anger, deception, regret, fantasy, daydreaming, you name it. All so intense, so pure, so raw, so red. Sure, I don't listen to every song individually that often, but as a hole it just completes me. And the re-recorded version is perfection 🥰

My unpopular opinion: lover is her most mature album, im not saying its my favorite but its still amazing. It’s very straightforward & explains everything in great detail. Like the song lover is a more mature version of your in love. I’m not saying that its her best album (lyrically) but it’s definitely her most mature. Btw i think that the album would have done WAY better if cruel summer or Cornelia street were the lead single. Also is last kiss your favorite song from speak now nena? Unpopular opinion: Speak Now is not underrated. Every Swiftie I know has it in their top 3. And everyone moved on from Midnights so fast and kept longing for Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). Midnights and Red (Taylor’s Version) are the real underrated ones.

I love your videos where you're just talking ab taylor, they make me so happy also yes I agree ME! is a bop, it's different from her other work but that's just because it's a fun song, she literally said she imagined KIDS singing this feeling good about themselves, and it was a perfect lead single bc the meaning behind it. YES Cruel Summer should've been a single but not the lead single. also YES OML HER MERCH IS FAAAAAAR TOO EXPENSIVE!!!!! I live in the US and it's still like so expensive, I've said before I think she forgets SHE'S the famous rich celebrity, not her fans. Personally my ranking is: 10. Debut-incredibly talented, but her vocals weren’t developed yet; not a huge fan of country 9. Lover-definitely some great songs on here, but she often focused on politics & it’s good that she expresses her views but not as emotionally relatable, also very lighthearted compared to rep. 8. Fearless (TV) - great hits, but still not that into country 7. 1989-really love this album (especially Wonderland and I know places) a little overrated, but still amazing 6. Evermore-it was hard to put this album so low it’s honestly great & I love it, just not my very favorite 5. Midnights-I love the genre change to a synth wave pop. It’s also one of her healing albums; especially love the 3 am version 4. Red (TV)- there is so a broad range of songs, captures so many emotions & experiences, beautifully written 3. Speak Now-She literally wrote every song on her own! It was her first album that was a transition from country to pop, and each song is a complete masterpiece 2. Reputation-I LOVE the darker vibe, and its got an element of rock as well; will never get tired of this album 1. ΜΕ! is one of the best on Lover? Is it lyrically a masterpiece? Hell no. Is it catchy? Hell yeah. Are the harmonies the reason I love? Fvck yes. Speak Now is her best album. No matter the mood you’re in, if you accidentally play a song it’s going to drift you away. Speak Now has no skips. Reputation is an ok album. Love your video! It’s impossible for me to decide which one is better: folklore or evermore. They’re like sisters, evermore is elder and mature, folklore like started the path of indie and dreamy music so it looks younger, but at the same time both of the albums own my heart. For me personally they create quite different atmosphere (evermore: warmth, coziness, autumn months; folklore: late spring vibes) and how much i like this or that album depends more on my current mood. So i decided to just stop these endless thoughts in my mind and appreciate them both ☺️

Crazier from Hannah Montana the Movie is completely overlooked. I got to know Taylor Swift through that movie but it was firstly when I heard “Mine”, “You Belong with Me” and “Love Story” that I really fell for her music. Since then, I grew up with her. I’m from Denmark, and I’m still mad that I didn’t get to listen to her in Roskilde Festival 2020 because of covid - that was the only time she planned to visit Denmark so far. I have high hopes that she will come back to Europe somehow.

Can I add about Taylor's young voice that it is extraordinary to sing that wavering or whine of pain and youth trying to hold it all together and wobbling - you can call that unable to sing or top notch - ahead of the curve. I feel that Taylor's song writing has educated my ear, my 'touch' on the piano, my sense of rhythm - and my range, not over egging the mix... Isn't it more accurate to say she has increased her range and power and technique with age but she was always up there from the beginning and since no one appreciated that she is a savante she has tried 113% forever as though she was trying to catch up to fit in, until she realised and has begun to be who she is or something :)

my opinion, taylor shouldn't change the lyrics on better then revenge because of "slut shaming" because what i figured out is taylor is a people pleasure and she would do anything just for people to like her and the internet would cancel anyone FOR ANYTHING because if we compare taylor and cardi b for example, taylor gets canceled for saying "shes better known for the things she does on the mattress" when cardi b AND niki manaj say the most inappropriate, SLUT SHAMING and bizarre things and no one cares but taylor has to change a whole lyric to a 13 year old song, istg people on twitter manipulate taylor its honestly sad, like they act as if they've never shamed their ex's new gf and honestly better then revenge is just a song from a teenage girls point of view.

I think her vocals are very UNDERrated. Many people do not appreciate them due to her earliest years of performance and not very insane vocal control. As a trained singer tho, i can see so much improvement and technique. She is an amazing vocalist.

Here is my album ranking: 10. Evermore..... I just... there are the most skips, the songs i like i LOVE, there incredible, but the songs that i skip i skip for a reason if u get what i mean... 9. Debut- Great, love, amazing, just like others more. 8. Fearless- Love it, i just don't really get around to listening to too many from it, but I'm warming up to the songs i don't know very well. However, Fearless and TWILY are insanely good, i will SCREAM both of them proudly 7. Folklore. It hurts putting it this low, because i LOVE this album so so much. Its so incredible and the lyrics..... just no words. Like insanely good. I am just more of a country/pop fan, but MTR is in my top ten favourites of all time. I LOve folklore. 6. Midnights Pretty much on par with folklore. Im starting to adore midnights. I def think that is has some extremely underrated bops: The great war, and i LOVE maroon 5. Rep- I do love rep. The era, the songs, its iconic. I do think a bit overrated, but everyone goes through there rep faze and i just really LOVE rep, i think i have heard it too much. KOMH and CIWYW are fire 4. Lover- Yes, a bit overrated but i think the era is just cute and sweet the album is such a good vibe and dbatc and cornelia street are perfection. I cant describe how much those songs. Both in top 10 for me. Lover is just so cute and feel good and sugary. I really love it. There are some skips, but mostly ill listen to it on repeat. 3. Speak Now. TV did something for me. I always LIKED this album, but TV got me loving it and putting it on top 3. There are no skips. None. You just have to be in the right mood for some of them. I do think enchanted is the worst one, because of how much it is hyped, but the vault tracks.... it blows my mind taylor didnt think timeless was good enough. i LOVE this album so so so much. 2. My precious baby... Red. I am SUCH a red stan. There is not 1 bad song on red. The lyrics the time, the era is perfection for me. Red has got to be my fave era. How can a person not love atw. Red is incredible. Such a good record. I love every single second of every song..... some of these songs were my fave at 6 years old. 1. 1989. idc if you think it is overrated. this album has such a soft spot for me. Not one skip. words cannot describe how much i love this album, being what got me into taylor, knowing all the lyrics, like i seriously am obsessed. Clean is my all time favourite song. I LOVE it. I can always listen to 1989 no matter hwat mood and it will forever be my no 1.

I think Taylor has a gorgeous voice. No, she’s not Whitney Houston, but not many are. The cover of the Phil Collin’s song was breathtaking and I’ve always been a fan of his. I’ve only started listening to Taylor in the last year and I’ve been amazed at her diversity and seeing that she has so much more to offer than her radio hits. I’m in my 70’s and I’m thankful for the Swiftie journey! It’s been so much fun!

Wonderland, Stay Stay Stay, London Boy, How You Get The Girl and Better Than Revenge are criminally underrated. 4. Talking about Better Than Revenge, yes the lyrics are misogynist and frankly not okay, the song is MUSICALLY one of the best (well not best but like yk what I mean) 5. Speak Now is her best album 6. Lover was her best era for Taylor herself 7. All too well isn't her saddest song but it's up there, I'd say her saddest was Last Kiss or Dear John too. 8. Lastly, her longer songs are better than the short rushed ones, eg. All too well, All too well 10, Enchanted, Dear John, etc

My unpopular opinion: Taylor and other artists truly should give more credit to their vocal coaches along their journey to help carve out and mold the best in their voice quality and choices. It would be cool for artists to track and record some of the sessions they have with their vocal coaches as they grow through the years I think that would be cool to watch.
