how many hours a day did you practice when you first started and how long did it take for you to play a full song perfectly with no buzzing just like a professional?
@swiftlessons7 жыл бұрын
Great question. I started when I was 11 years old, and I spent the majority of my teenage years practicing at least a few hours a day. Sometimes I'd lock myself in my room and jam, record, study videos, write songs for eight hours at a time. Basically, if I was working, I was practicing, or jamming with friends.

Played it in my band for years, except I'd walk over to my co guitar player, and look at him with dreamy eyes and sing "how I wish... how I wish you were queer" It's hard to hear this song any other way now. Of course you can't sing this kind of thing today with everyone being so "woke" and uptight and all. Good times.

Rob, there are so many tutorials online for this song but yours is by far the very best. And your voice is so perfectly matched for this song. And something funny, so many people who sing this song just can't get the opening "So..." perfect. I mean, it's just one word but you nailed it 110%. When people don't nail that first word just right it ruins the beautiful intro. One of my favorite songs of all time. Thank you so much for the great tutorial! --Mike

My great friend without meeting you in person, at 21 years of age I sold my yamaha acoustic guitar to graduate as a mechanical engineer, today At 57 years old, I bought my 17-year-old son a guitar, my son plays and listens to the pink floyd records that I carefully keep safe and are new in their plastic bag and cardboard case. my son wants to learn he is new to playing guitar and I want to learn again or leave behind more than 40 years ago !!! .. I bought a used yamaha F310 guitar and I hope to have it on hand and play it soon I bought it from afar and I can not look for it because of the covid quarantine ... sorry for this whole story, your video is fantastic EXCELLENT too bad that youtube does not yet have an automatic sound translation of your language or voice, for me It is a little difficult to see the translation of your language and at the same time see all the details of your fingers playing the guitar, but it is still the best guitar learning that I have seen .. from here in Venezuela living like in a cage by the Communism that now does not even allow us to visit our relatives, much less remove the used guitar that I bought. This song "Wish You Were Here" is one of my favorites and I'm trying to teach my son how little I learned because my learning wasn't much when I just started to play the guitar and I try to do it with whatever I bought for my son. I ask you if you can answer me. . My son holds or closes his hand completely to play the guitar down and I can barely see the punctuation or pickup of playing the strings, is that normal? My son bothers me a little and I tell him that this is a bad posture, you have to have your fingers a little open to strum or pluck the guitar. you can help me in that. What advice can I give my son regarding that bad posture of the right hand. thanks for your great teaching and from now on I will be in your group .. thanks again ...

Hopefully you see this, jut wanted to say your inspirational to me whenever I learn on my acoustic I always turn to your videos, you break everything down to the littlest point. With out your videos I wouldn't be able to pull of the tricks I have learnt from you. Hell yeah it can be a challenge, but the way you play inspires me more to learn because you make it look so easy and you really put the time and effort into your videos for people to achieve their goals and you sure have helped me well and truly grateful, would just like to say a massive thankyou and I'm certainly sure I will be turning no wear else but to your videos. Thank you again buddy really do appreciate.From Macauley, living in United Kingdom. :) Thank you!!

This cover of Wish you were here has inspired me to pick up a guitar after a decade and to enjoy learning how to play. I love when a different artist can perform a classic track, emphasizing with technique and emotion that would make Pink Floyd proud.

+Shashank M hey thanks for the compliments. I definitely feel that there are too many guitar teachers breaking down bits and pieces. My output is lower, but I'm much more content in teaching the entire tune. Many more are on the way!-Rob
