Went to bed with this song in my head.. awoke at 2am (having dreamed about playing it. After a whiskey or 3, I came across you. And by 3:03 I was playing it.. your explanation was just the ticket... Then I came across your lesson on " I'm on fire", What a soul calming way to pass the time, to get through to breakfast time with the kids...

The opening e chord is wrong for starters 😕 It doesn't sound right because of it
@johnfry29158 жыл бұрын
Very helpful. I appreciate you slowing down and showing what chord hits on which words. Helps me with timing...I still have a hard time singing and playing at the same time.
@ramjam97987 жыл бұрын
Nice! Another option is an open D tuning on low E string then put a capo on the second fret so the E chord in the intro and throughout the whole song can be played C#m7/E then C#m in the shape of Bm7/D, Bm consecutively if you play fingerpicking. The A chord is adjusted to A/A on the VII fret. Just a suggestion. Your videos help a lot of beginners. Keep it up! :-)

Hey Mike, my Patreon does have tabs on it, but also pdf study guides for all my technique lessons, soundslice tutorials, backing tracks, practice schedules and chord sheets. It’s a pretty robust library of learning tools.

I would say on an acoustic it just does not sound right. I use ( main gibson style playing) an Epiphone les paul ( $250 cheapo guitar) but man that guitar just has a unique sound that not even my buddies expensive PRS sounds like lol. It has a dark crunch bass section that is perfect for this song with the muted palm playing ( as played in the studio edition with some delay and reverb)

Sure, we go hiking, and swimming on the Wissahickon. He loves going to dog parks and humping great danes... He actually has a lot of energy, but he knows that when I'm working it's a good time to catch some extra z's. He's a pretty easy going pup.
