I actually like the Stripers better than the Bass, but really just love catching fish.

Man, to consistently get out on the lake especially in the recent cold weather we've had and catch em like you do shows the passion that comes through every video and every hookset with that hehehe chuckle. love it.

Right off the bat I’m reminded of fishing for Stripers in Long Island Sound…. Find the birds = find the bait = find the Stripers. Don’t usually see you fishing around other guys but after the cold spell you guys endured I guess when the weather warms up so does the fishing pressure. Some great Striper action Dana, what a blast.
@FCPFishing2 жыл бұрын
The striper guides crowded me out on that day, and I eventually left because there were too many people. I was the only guy that caught anything evidently. I heard them cussing me as I reeled them in. Thanks Don!

Dana, that was the best striper fishing episode I've ever seen. I thought the topwater action was over since fall is over and it's January now. Thanks for posting, and for all your tips. You rock. Happy New Year my friend.

Great vid! It would have been too tempting for me not to throw a top water. Boy is that fun. What type of line do you use and pound test for stripers?
@FCPFishing9 ай бұрын
I use the lightest line I can get away with, they are pretty line shy in this clear water. I use Gamma fluorocarbon, 12 lb test for the swim baits. I catch a lot on a spinning rod and a hair jig, for that I use 8 lb Gamma.
@getore1009 ай бұрын
@@FCPFishing Yup, I use Gamma as well but the polyflex. GREAT line.
@ninjamatt75402 жыл бұрын
Are you using a swim bait with an underspin? Awesome fishing. I went this morning at the spot your at. I won’t mention where it’s at. But that is a honey hole to me. Keep up the great content I enjoy watching.
@FCPFishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I don't use an under spin, just a plain white jig head. They are keying in on smaller bait right now, so they are kind of tough to catch. That area is a good area, but it gets hammered too much. I caught them again today on a different part of the lake.

Wow! You did do very well out there! The guides were rolling in. Maybe I should have braved the scrum and come over there in the kayak. Instead I went to the point where it gets really narrow and then over to the community dock before trying to catch up with you on the shallow muddy point. Not a bite for me 😐 still good to get out there.

It got a little ridiculous when all of the guides came in, but I never saw them catch a single fish! Thanks for watching!
