Alone on the lake, catching lots of nice fish with a rod built by craftsmen connected to St Croix rods in WI. Can it get better than that. Thanks for sharing. God Bless!

One of my favorite videos. As well as the one you almost went for a swim grabbing your net. I know you prefer Gamma Fluorocarbon. What weight line did you use in this video or for striper fishing in general? Thanks!
@FCPFishing
@FCPFishing Жыл бұрын
That is one of my favorite as well! When using a baitcaster I use 12 pound Gamma. When using a spinning rod, I use 8 pound Gamma. I probably catch more on the spinning rod. That 8 lb is some strong line. I try to use the lightest line I can get away with. The Stripers are line shy, meaning they have excellent eyesight. You’ll catch more fish with light line.

I have a 15.5 ft semi v boat and would like to striper fish on Lanier. Any tips? It looks like you do well in a smaller boat.
@FCPFishing
@FCPFishing 10 ай бұрын
I only fish for them in the cooler months, they won't survive being caught in the hot weather. That being said, my advice is to fish the north end in the colder months. It is less crowded up here, so your boat will be fine. They will start showing up sometime in October usually. The worse the weather, the better the striper fishing. I only use artificials, a small swim bait or a buck tail jig will catch them, as well as topwater lures. Find the bait and the fish will be around.

With a few hitting the surface,do you ever throw a big spook or other topwater bait???
@FCPFishing
@FCPFishing Жыл бұрын
Yes, I do. It all depends on water temp and the size of the bait they are eating. I prefer a popper rather than a spook most times. Take a look at “Lake Lanier Fall Feeding Frenzy” parts one and two on my channel. Some of the best topwater Striper fishing you’ll ever see.

This was Lake Lanier in Georgia. They are stocked in lakes all over the country. They also swim upstream into rivers to spawn so they end up in some lakes naturally as well. They live just fine in fresh water as well as salt water. Here at Lake Lanier we have thousands of them.
