Frank describes the tale of a man whose woman (love of his life) ends their relationship and then the man kills her and puts her into the trunk and now he is drying towards the ocean to plunge into it (hence commit suicide) cause he cannot bare a life without her. simple. mans is an amazing story teller.. one could picture exactly what goes through a passion killer's mind.

I think this song is about suicide. He’s singing about taking his last drive.. no one seems to notice, no one seems to car, but it doesn’t matter. He’s got this “black suit” (depression) but he’s getting closer & close to peace “5 more miles” then “1 more mile” until the road runs out.. (his life) “Im going off.. don’t try stopping me.. I’m going off.. don’t try saving me.. no flares, no vest.. & no fear.. waves are washing me out..”

On one side I definitely agree with you, on the other I feel like "driving in the ocean" coming from a guy who named himself ocean, was just a way of saying he killed his old self to become the artist/singer "ocean". On the other side it might be a about his sexuality. Kinda reminds me of bohemian rhapsody, which is about a guy who kills someone and then "has to go". and was also about sexuality struggles. swim good is an amazing track is my conclusion. :)

He wants to live after the “suicide” attempt! He takes of his suit and shoes to swim free again of the past relationship... relieving the extra weight or baggage from the previous telationship
