It makes total sense. Blonde was a work of staggering genius. If your one is good enough, you only need one. He's a legend in my mind for that album alone.

It’s the opposite - recent songs Frank released show that he really lost his inspiration. Blonde was good, but it was a decline since nostalgia, Ultra - however emotional this album is for you, musically, substance-wise, it’s a decline

Was there in the front at Coachella. Haven’t heard a singer sound so raw, so inspiring, and so emotional in a long time, not like that. This man takes his time with his art and it shows. Blonde and Channel Orange are era-defining masterpieces. Time will tell the tale of a man dedicated to his craft who defied all the odds and naysayers. Mark my words.

I love Frank Ocean's music. His music has been part of the soundtrack of my life through all my milestones. And I felt robbed at his Coachella set. It's still quite fresh in my mind and it's honestly commendable how well his PR team has suppressed how bad the set went. I'm still pretty mad how the festival was topped off after 3 incredible days. And his music was still stuck in my head all night because of my anticipation. Can't help but get it stuck in my head every now and then and I feel that's a testament to his great songwriting/production.
@Isaac-kf1tc

sounds like you have a good idea of how Frank Ocean's set should have been. You should help him out by letting him know how he was supposed to perform his music that night. you should also probably help him with making his next batch of music, and make sure he's doing it in a way thats good for you so you don't feel mad or robbed when it comes out

@@Isaac-kf1tc this is obviously hindsight, but personally I wish I didn't see that set. It was one of the worst sets I'd ever seen. I go to a lot of concerts and festivals and he didn't even play his music. He put his recordings on the loud speaker and danced around awkwardly, didn't even sing.

@@Whoosh12345 I respect that. But tbh it sounds like you actually weren't there. I used to listen to Channel Orange on loop all day everyday. It’s almost as if it was meant to be heard that way. What I find extremely annoying from the average music consumer is when they whine over why a certain artist takes so long to release new music. Kendrick, the Pulitzer Prize winner, is another good example. And when they don’t hear anything for a mere two years or so, they’ll say “oh, he/she fell off.” They don’t understand that greatness takes TIME. If you’re a true fan, you’ll wait however long it will take. If not, then go ahead and listen to those mainstream artists who put out albums twice a year. Albums filled with low-quality that you might dig for a few days and then you’re over it. Great music should be timeless and should be able to be enjoyed EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU HEAR IT.

It’s all gimme-gimme-gimme with y’all. Just because they stop producing music, you’re just gonna abandon your fandom? I’ve had my favorite artists in the 90s and a lot of them stopped putting out music. And guess what? They’re STILL my favorite artists! Y’all needa get over yourselves smfh…

@pastense
@pastense Жыл бұрын
@@enshen2190 well, like in the reply to the previous commenter, that’s all dependent on the artist (AND their label). I highly doubt folks in the 60s were complaining over artists not rapidly putting out new music. They were enjoying SINGLES for several years after they were out. And it was always like this pretty much before streaming came about. All I’m saying is, I don’t let an artist’s output dictate my fandom for them. There’s no expiration date for the work they did if I’m a fan of their music.

Frank ocean’s an artist. He gives people a lyrical visionary perspective of his own losses as he proceeds to become what people often use as a muse for there losses and isolates himself to the degree of what others feel like they’ve lost. Art is forever but the person who created it isn’t always, even if that means inaccessible while still living. For some people they find the will to live through an artist’s advice, even if it’s in a melodized memory but sometimes for the artist there will comes from the opportunity that there pain through music has gifted them.

I miss Frank Oceans music. Its one of my inspirations. "Blonde" its one of my favourite discs. With Nikes im literally in the space and Skyline to its beautiful, it reminds me some good things that I have lived in summer. I hope that I could enjoy more art from him. I think that frank its not the typical artist that likes being famous or in the spotlight or maybe its just something that its very difficult to cope with and thats why he doesnt show so much. If im trying to imagine what its like to be famous and everybody wanting selfies and screaming on me or following me... Puf, Its seems a nighmare to me, I enjoy my privacy. He was like a boom and I think maybe it was too much. Anyway, thank you for sharing the video. It was cool! Have a good day! Lots love!

Before the 2000s, music was less commercialized and operated as art that you had to “meet with.” A lot of bigger artists in the 90s, for example, had very few albums. Lauryn Hill, D’Angelou and Maxwell come to mind. And we mustn’t leave out us witnessing the rare metamorphosis of Beyoncé going from a pop hitmaker to a more genuine artist, changing with every album.

As an artist who has the same goals and meaning as Frank, making music in the form of art and really have the listener envision the song itself is difficult. You become so immersed into what you’re writing that you go back, add things, remove things, then get to the point where you think you shouldn’t release it because you know that you could make something artistically better than that. Aside from that, drop some shit Frank 😭

i don't think anyone can claim that he won't release anymore music because nobody has the possibility of knowing, but the "artist not an entertainer" thing relates as you can never ensure that an artist will keep producing art. unlike entertainers, it's not their job to do so; they produce art when they feel like it, and will stop when they want to. that's the reason why it was included

‘Pyramids,’ which I think is Frank’s magnum opus, alone is why I think he’s one of the greatest artists that has ever lived. It’s so sonically sound while also transcending genres. Frank’s discography may be short and he may never release music again, but his discography is evergreen and his commitment to quality control is why his discography is impeccable and evocative.

If only he had an actual drive to create music, could’ve been bigger than the weekend but he seems to just do what only HE wants now without his fans in mind.

There is never an excuse for an artist to not do music when money and resources are not the problem. The artist cannot live without his art, and the art cannot be expressed and offered to the world without the artist. An artist should not be okay with disconnecting with their art, not because they dont want to, but because they are incapable of doing it, whether alone in their room, or in front of thousands of people.

artists are like thee mona lisa they are humans captured in an industry that doesn't care about emotions, but selling + turning numbers...so, no one cared about thee mona lisa until it disappeared... it was stolen, but imagine your family member dying + people who haven't digested you earlier classic work request more because that is entertainment + what people have normalized...that is industry, factory working on a schedule... no artist can survive sanely in that space...thee mona lisa is actually very small in person...and when eye saw people grown people pushing + shoving 222 get a selfie...eye knew thee power in disappearing on a high note...artists should enjoy the moment...musicians are hard working entertainers trained 444 stuff like world tours...it is abnormal + exhausting 444 normal consumers if they were 222 take that on...but imagine being expected 222 be timely when your body of work was created out of timelessness...and divine inspiration + feminine raw feelings...trying 222 duplicate that 444 nights on end...pun intended... and he's a scorpio moon like me...when you know your power you choose wiser than others...mystery brings in allure...and eye'd rather be respected by my peers who eye can work with...and understand how lonely that lifestyle can be...than 222 satisfy thee public who will critique talent harshly + then fall 444 gimmicky blk face caricatures...it can be disappointing as an artist...222 focus on thee business + not go back in222 timelessness + find inspiration as an artist..

music is subjective, so you don't have to like it! its just more popular because the composition and lyrics appeal to people more. a lot of powerful quotes from him are in that album, and the emotion put into it is easier for people to relate to since everyone has relation issues at some point
