stopped swimming three years ago, gonna start again. My arms were stronger than my legs so I used them more instead of improving what needed improvement (my legs), this video is really good and is definitely going to help me, thank you

Ifind there is a reason for the 6 kicks per cycle. when the right arm pulls, the right leg should kick down to give a left-turning torque. Name it 1st kick. then on the 4th kick, left leg kicks down and left arm pulls. The other reasonable choice is two kicks cycle, that is what long distance swimmer usually do. You can observe the rhythm in the video.

My fucking teacher never told me the movement should come from the hips all she said was “put more strength in your legs” while i said thats hard to exerce strength with a relaxed limb

Same has happened with me.. And I was wondering why the heck my legs are so slow... Today, I learned what I have been missing.

I am a beginner and I can't kick with 2 legs efficiently, my right leg is extremely efficient , but when I use my left leg I feel super weak .. any tips?
@kenzieh4194 жыл бұрын
Maybe doing some single leg workouts like lunges, split lunges, or pistol squats. Keep swimming and practicing, you’ll get the hang of it!

I've been swimming for a couple of months but my leg movement is still terrible lol I can barely move any inch only using the legs... Why is this so difficult
@darrenscott1845 Жыл бұрын
Probably very inactive flutes like me. Sitting down too much over the years maybe, or maybe it’s partly genetic.
@aleks-lj9yq Жыл бұрын
@@darrenscott1845it’s not genetic, you can’t move by moving your legs in water, you have to move from your hips as well. Like those mermaids in movies
