sorry, i very much disagree with that. i think these things are very important, but you are the one who needs to swim.
@rachellehawkins5235 Жыл бұрын
by that, i mean that a coach and stuff are important but it is not the most important thing. the most important thing, i think, is to have passion and devotion to learning it and doing it. 0:

My coach is hella strict lol
@courtneyl.545 Жыл бұрын
@@rachellehawkins5235a coach is supposed to help you get better and swim faster, their job is to teach you techniques correctly, it’s not about passion and devotion, that’s not teaching you the correct way to do things in order to swim faster

I am an adult beginner and have always wanted to learn the freestyle swim technique. However I have been very frustrated with my inability to learn the flutter kick because i was having no forward motion. I watched your video very carefully and was so excited when your technique worked for me. I am able to propel forwards now. I still cannot turn for a breath but that is my next hurdle :) Thanks coach

Excellent video! My feeling is that technique is most important. The coach's most important job is to teach optimum technique, and the training plan must reinforce that technique. For example, looking back at some of my age-group practice years, I think some of our coaches had us doing too much distance after our form was breaking down, and that can be very counterproductive, especially for young swimmers.

yes, its not good to swim long distance after learning bad form just make it worse

Thank you for the good lessons and tips. I took lessons and worked as a life guard in my teenage years. Now I am over 65 and have not forgotten most of the techniques, swimming is a little bit like learning to ride a bicycle, once you learn it well, you will never forget but can always improve your technique. Thanks again for your refresher course.

Kicking the feet should at the very least, keep the legs high in the water, to minimise water resistance. Don’t expect much more. The arms provide most of the forward movement. Best single pice of advice I’ve heard on technique.👍

Just a random swimming tip: Do not and I mean do not try to test how long you can hold your breath under water for too long, and make sure to take breaths while swimming pretty often. There a condition anyone can get called shallow after blackout. Though it can happen not just shallow but deep. It’s technically where you stop breathing. And you drown pretty fast (immediately ) Be careful don’t do challenges with other sayin who can hold their breath longer. Stay safe!

An important element for improving the freestyle kick is the butterfly wave in all positions (on the front, on the back, on the side). Only then will your kick move to the next level. It will not come from the thighs, but from the hips and core. Try waving for 15 minutes and then kicking freestyle. You will feel a big difference.
