Once again an ideal fish filled pond ,and with me being in a wheelchair for 4 years now it is good to see a pathway right around for plenty of access with place's to sit right at the edge. God bless.

Listen guys, I'm in North Mississippi and there really isn't any retail store like this here. I built a pond in my back yard just over a year ago and it keeps growing and growing ( VERY addictive!). You need to find it in your hearts to open a store here south of Memphis where people like me can visit and learn, as well as spend our entire paycheck on occasion! Seriously, Amazon is great for when you know what you are looking for but it will never replace people with knowledge and the ability to interact and inspire.

I live 20 minutes from this Garden State Koi. I remember being a little kid and visiting their store, it created my hobby of aquatics and interest in fish keeping. I always wanted a koi pond and I think I found my dream setup. I think Im gonna give their store a visit.

Another great video Greg #195. That pond seems to be one of my favourites with a big area to swim in and the tame koi coming up to you, now that is so cool. And the animal totem looks so wicked. Interesting to know that a dye is used to make the water dark to prevent algae from growing. That is good to know. Love the pond. Show us some more. Peace. 🙏

They say Koi have excellent memories, they recognize human faces, and have their own distinct personalities. Pretty impressive for a fish, they're not related to goldfish they're a type of Carp ive read and also a pretty hardy fish at that.
@MrJoshcc600
@MrJoshcc600 9 ай бұрын
They are both related to carp but because the good memory you gotta be very careful or in a single instance they are terrified by people and won't forget. I'm lucky mine I rose from feeders trust me 100% and come nibble on me but others I got later and more grown stay on the farthest point from me no matter what. Even food won't draw them in. Being chased and netted I think its what did it to get them here

Very beautiful. However, a crew should go back in January to video what that place looks like in winter. Are the falls still running? What maintenance is still being done in winter? I'd love to see that too.
@thomassmith4814
@thomassmith4814 5 жыл бұрын
The pond is closed in the winter and the waterfalls do not run. Main requirement is to keep a hole in the ice for the fish, which is done with a bubbler.

With these ponds in New York and jersey and the like how do you guys maintain the koi in the winter?
@GregWittstockThePondGuy

As long as the pond is two feet deep and you keep a hole in the ice, the koi should survive. They go into hibernation.

For those that have experience with such ponds, how do you deal with heron hunting the koi fish? Nets aren't very aesthetically pleasing, and dye is supposed to help but I don't quite understand how it obstructs the birds view, since to my eyes it looks more clear after its dyed than before.
