SWIMMING WITH T1D - TODDLER EDITION

Hope this helps anyone else battling the hot weather and all the activities that come with summer! Addie loves to swim and it’s been great that omnipod and dexcom have been sticking!! The expression med tapes help too!
It certainly is a blood sugar roller coaster whenever she goes swimming but I figured out a routine that works for us!
Comment below any of your tips for swimming or outdoor activities while having T1D! Let’s hear em!
Watermelon as a snack was a huge win for us! Kept her blood sugars up and it kept her hydrated!

I was 15 months old baby when diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes now I am 45 years old so above 44 years of T1D. I can understand what all problems My Mother would have faced in taking care of Me. Love U Moma 😘😘. Till time No medical problems.🙂🙂😁😁.

Keeping blood sugar in range while swimming is really great. The activity usually takes it out of me and any snacking I do still doesn't compensate. Great job Mama

If I'm going to bathe for a long time, I usually put adhesive bandages over the pod on my arm. In Sweden, it can be bought at a pharmacy or pet supply store. Hope you have a lovely summer ❤

Addie is always hyperactive . Whenever I see her, I feel energetic as she is everyday.

I wouldn't say she's hyperactive. She's just your normal active toddler. They're just busy bodies at that age with how fast they are growing and developing.

Hi mam , i am a student of homeopathy from india , my sister of 12 yrs just got type 1 diabetes before 4 month , we started aurvedic medicine plus homeopathy for her treatment, nw after 4 months she is completely cured and doesn't need any insulin, and her sugar level is normal too , plz refer to good auervda physician, hope she will too get better

I have lived with type 1 diabetes for about 57 years. There is still no cure for type 1 diabetes. Homeopathy does not cure type 1 diabetes. Up to a year after diagnosis, one can be in the honeymoon phase, but if she has been correctly diagnosed, insulin production eventually stops. Sorry to have to write this but it's the stark truth. Research is ongoing.

Why do you always have to show your children in the videos? What if, as a teenager or adult, she doesn't want people to have videos and photos from all perspectives and moments of her life. You could steal their full identity, create a deepfake, or much more. PLEASE BE MORE CAREFUL WITH YOUR CHILDREN'S DATA AND PRIVACY! 😭 I have experienced bullying myself and know how cruel children are and how they will use everything they can find to get you down... Please, it's your job as parents to protect your children from something like this!
