Couldn't believe my Pentair pump control panel could be any more confusing until I saw this previous model. An "X" for "select"? Whose idea was that? Congratulations to the presenter for making some sense of it.

Whoever did the software for these things was bereft of knowledge of any previous control systems out there. So were the people advising them. Having a "Quick Clean" time factory set at 6 minutes is proof. Worst of all it the Jandy VS. You can barely see the display in direct sunlight, and the programming is profoundly counter-intuitive. I can barely figure them out with a factory diagram in my hand. I've been working pools for 30 years. I now recommend 2-speed motors. No electronics, no drive to replace, On the power center, add a 2-speed relay. On electro-mechanical timers, add a T106 (Intermatic) timer. The motors are bullet proof and have been on the market for decades, and you can use the existing pump wet end. Thanks for posting this video!

When my Pentair variable speed pump was installed about 3 years ago, there was only one sketchy KZbin video about it. Finally, someone come up with a "how to" video in real time. I tried printing out the programming instructions from the manual, but it might as well have been in Greek (or maybe Chinese). Thank you!

Thank you. Love the pump, but the control panel is very difficult to use for the homeowner who only needs to change things once or twice a year. It's great once it is setup. BTW - thanks for the info about the watts, I will have to see how mine is setup to make sure I am not wasting electricity by running it too fast when I could run it slower for longer.

Hello, great videos easy to understand thank you. I like to ask you a question on the speed of the pump. My pool is 25,000 gallons, can you tell me the best speed to run in and for how long. The pool service company keeps telling me if I run it at a low speed for a longer period of time the pool water is not being filtered. They recommend running it at a high speed for 6 Hours and for some reason the water still looks a little dirty and at times it starts building yellow algae. Can you help me out with any information thank you?.

Very through demo, thanks. My question is regarding 'Spa' pump vs 'Pool' pump, specifically what/how to program the 'Spa' pump, since all the schedules I set seem to fire off with the 'Pool' pump green (ie: ON in the phone app). I can manually activate the 'Spa' pump from the app (our spa is embedded in pool corner). Are there any specific program settings to be mindful of, regarding 'Spa' pump?

Thanks this helped a lot. I just lowered 12am-3am setting from 3100 to 2800. 7am-7pm to 450( which was not set and I knew nothing about) Quick Clean is good to go. Previous owner had all types of settings for all the speeds which was confusing me. I'm trying to simplify matters. Next I need to find out how many gallons the pool is for the most efficient settings for AZ.

+Abdullah Mulazim 450RPM for 12 hours may not be enough. If the pool has been happy since you commented then feel free to ignore this but you may need to raise your low speed up until you find the happy medium where your daily water turnover is correct.

Hi, great video, I have 2 STA-RITE IntelliPro Variable Speed Programmable Pump that were install in 2014. I use "Set Time" to set the IntelliPro system time. The system clock is suppose to store the correct time for up to 96 hours after power is shut off or before a reset is needed. I just had the latest Pentair 3hp pump model 11056 professionally installed. I verified the settings with Pentair tech support. I did the math and do not really see the electric savings. The pump runs for 8 hours at 1300 rpm using 146 Watt/hours total 1168 watt/hours, next it runs for 2 hours at 2750 rpm 1265 Watt/hours total 2530 watt/hours, The pump needs to run for 1 minute at 3450 rpm 38 Watt/hours to get the Kreepy Krawley (Pentair pool sweep) to start. Total for the day 3736 Watt/hours. My old Hayward 3hp SUPER 11 pump was running 3450 rpm for 2 hours a day at 8.3 amps on 230V total 3818 watt/hours per day. Power savings of only 82 watt/hours per day with the new Pentair pump. I know for sure that I will not see any savings on my electric bill with all the other power I use. ALSO: for a brand new model pump it's programed with a obsolete daylight savings time. Daylight saving time before 2007.
