Pool Filter Need To Know Information

I was always taught I0 psi over start was the place to clean. Then I thought about it wondered why would I want my filter running at 8 or 9 when cleaning around 7 would be a better spot. A clean filter runs so much smoother than a dirty point, why wait until 10psi over? Good call.

thanks for info, I run a hayward c200s- the brand new was at 7psi now after 3 seasons is up around 12 psi. When I clean the filter is goes to 10 psi then gets back up to 12 psi. The filter still looks good visually, hoping to get another season out of it. Here in Texas, I run the pool year round.

that sounds like the hallmark of filters at the end of their life. The debris embeds deeply into the paper material where it can not be removed. Have you been cleaning them with a degreaser or just rinsing them? Degreasing is important.

@@jakeminniti without a degreaser you are not actually cleaning filters. Use simple green spray one option. Another is 5 gallons of hot water to 1 cup of automatic dishwasher detergent granules. Best option is a filter degreaser product from a pool store. If the filter can be saved this will do it

Write the filter pressure “in permanent marker on the wall” of your house?!? Why not just mark the gage itself with marker or suitable table. Better yet… get a replacement gauge with an adjustable indicator dial

The number written on the wall of your pool equipment shed wall is not such a problem. I didn't say to write it on your wife's forehead.
