Check out this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/opLVoayAh8-jepI You'll need to know how many gallons your pool holds

I live in Las Vegas where the current temperatures are consistently reaching 110 degrees daily. I recently switched to using liquid chlorine (contains %10 sodium hypochlorite) from Trichlor tables because my CYA levels got up to about 70 ppm. Since I have switched, I have had to add 6-7 cups of liquid chlorine a day (equate to over 2 gallons a week) and my free chlorine levels test still shows 1-2 ppm. With weather this hot daily, would you consider this a normal amount of chlorine needed, and is me adding 6-7 cups a day ok? What if I wanted to boost my free chlorine levels to 5 ppm? Do I need to add more chlorine daily? (For your reference, my Alk is around 80 ppm, pH around 7.4-7.6, and cya still around 70 ppm. Pool size is approx 10,000 gal.)

That seems like a normal amount. If you want the chlorine boost, you'll need to shock it (which means doubling the dose). Or use a cal-hypo shock.

I purchased an automatic pool robot cleaner and it climbs the walls very well. Do I need to continue brushing the pool walls?

Yes. Nothing beats brushing.

If you have more porous walls, like concrete, you'll definitely want to brush to get algae spores out of the nooks and crannies

PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!! I have a substance on the bottom of my pool everyday, when I brush it up, it clouds up into the water. My pool guy says he does not know what it is and he said he doesn't know what to tell me. My chlorine level is at 7 ppm so it's not algae and even he said it's not algae. All other components (Ph, Alkal., etc.) are perfect. I notice I get a lot of sand in my pool on a daily basis. My pool guy changed the sand out last year and said the laterals are fine and none were broken. Something is wrong, pool guy can't help and Im on my last leg with this darn pool. At this point most of my Family wants me to cover it up and plant grass. Swim University supposed to know everything about pools I hear, so I have come to you for help. PLEASE, PLEASE Time to prove to everyone just how good you are with swimming pools. Earnsome Praise here, help me and I will spread your name everywhere I can.

@user-ic4qw4km7r Nobody has been able to tell me. I dont have a manual vacuum so flock'd is out unless I go buy one, dont really want to. My pool guy doesn't know what to tell me. I asked here at Swim U. and he said algae or clean my filter. Filter is as clean as a sand filter gets so I asked him again in this video and have not heard back from him. Maybe he won't answer me again, I'm waiting to see how good he really is at this. I hope he is great and helps me but I asked when this video 1st came out and I've not heard anything. We will see, huh, fingers crossed

If it brushes up into a dust cloud then settles back down at the bottom it sounds like good old fashioned organic dirt. I get this too from time to time. Vacuum that stuff out of there on your waste setting (NOT filter setting) and you should see a big difference.

It's definitely time to buy a manual vacuum and remove it by vacuuming on the waste setting
