same here ambcw. I have learned same way as you did. I personally suggest you that keep what you're doing because that is 100% correct.

Every golf teacher says something different. So many videos on teachers saying don’t hinge the wrists. Golf needs to be learned by yourself.

Yep. Everyone is different. I prefer letting them naturally hinge it even feel no hinge.

Hi Simon, I been watching your DVD for the past days and I'm confused about the impact position/ball contact. If I follow your suggestion to position my wrist/arms straight during contact/impact, the club face is closed. I'm a beginning golfer and I wanted to have this fix before going any further. I've searched around for the impact position and it is suggested that the hand should be leaning forward to have the club face correct. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks Andre - New Zealand

That's how I was taught I'm trying to relearn the lower body lag release and wish I never heard of it my swing isn't either now and I quit playing spending 5 hours a week on the range I'm going back to the wrist hinge out of frustration

I hit my drivers 220 to 230 and in the fairway I was a fool to try to learn a new swing at 64

This is an old school way of teaching or for seniors who need more swing speed. Arms and hands release swing requires timing and may cause inconsistency. Modern way of teaching or for people who has all the swing speed they need will generally use more of a body release swing... which is more consistent.
