Swing Makeover

Hurrah! I have this exact swing frame in my back yard waiting (for years) for me to figure out how to redo it. This gives a good starting point. Thanks so much!

Just make sure to make strong braces of some sort under the bench part. My husband and I fell through it with coffee in our hands ☕️😂 We weren’t hurt and got a good laugh out of it, but it could’ve ended badly. Haha Maybe make slats in short pieces vertically instead of long ones horizontally? I’m a little stumped at this point. Keep me posted! 😀🙌🏻

@@SparklyOne Yikes! Thanks for the update. I'd wanted to run the seat pieces front to back for reasons of rain drainage. Your experience confirms that this might be a better idea. Of course, if one used heavier material, running it lengthwise should not be a problem. I am not sure yet what I'm using. I have to wait for the snow to get off my husband's scrap lumber piles before I can tackle this. The part I just could not envision is how to do that back section and I think your video really helped with that. We'll see what happens later in the spring or summer when I get around to tackling this project.
