The whole era/genre of sophisti-pop that briefly graced the UK in the mid 80s is a greatly under appreciated time in music. EBTG, Style Council, Prefab Sprout, Aztec Camera and those couple years of Joe Jackson’s Steppin Out era are my favorite bands of that time. There was some top notch songwriting going on, with post punk stalwarts, whom all of a sudden, weren’t afraid to be catchy and well-produced.

Sophisti-pop is exactly what i love the most from the 80s and 90s pop music. When i say i like 80s pop songs people think about the generic jumpy songs that we all heard, but not songs like this one, the instrumentation and melody is just superb, it's stuff that is very hard to find nowadays. Thanks for giving me that term, it describes exactly what i like.

This music takes me back to time in the RAF in the 80’s. Young, fit and carefree. As long as I had enough money for a ferry ticket back to the UK from Belgium I was happy. Married the best woman I knew in 88. Still together as parents and grandparents!!!

The first time I heard this song was on WKYS in DC. Donnie Simpson had just returned from a vacation in the UK and he made a point of saying he was going to play a song that was out of format because it blew him away so much. This song has been in my head ever since then. You know it's something special when someone so deeply connected to the R&B community takes 5 minutes of time to play it on his drive-time show...classic.

I'm an extreme metal head but I love this song and so many others that this group has made ♥️. Thanks to my mommy dearest for listening to this music. I can't forget growing up and hearing this song and so many other from the 80's, and 90's that she listened to 😊. It's stuck with me and grown on me as I got older.

This song and the album it's from, always reminds me of the care free days of my youth. There songs and style at the time, was a breath of fresh air to the pop world...and that's saying something from someone who is a die hard Prog fan. There jazz undertones accompanied with fantastic melodies left me with an everlasting impression. Swing out Sister has to be one of the world's most underrated bands and song writer's.
