The whole era/genre of sophisti-pop that briefly graced the UK in the mid 80s is a greatly under appreciated time in music. EBTG, Style Council, Prefab Sprout, Aztec Camera and those couple years of Joe Jackson’s Steppin Out era are my favorite bands of that time. There was some top notch songwriting going on, with post punk stalwarts, whom all of a sudden, weren’t afraid to be catchy and well-produced.

Sophisti-pop is exactly what i love the most from the 80s and 90s pop music. When i say i like 80s pop songs people think about the generic jumpy songs that we all heard, but not songs like this one, the instrumentation and melody is just superb, it's stuff that is very hard to find nowadays.
