The first album, "It's Better to Travel," is timeless. I didn't mind some of the second and third album, after that, they lost me. HOWEVER, I still check out what they're doing. This is a catchy tune. I'd love to see a "its Better to Travel 2"!
@gertthorin1288 Жыл бұрын
@@joeb2588 I also lost them after the early nineties...Then in 2017 I was on an vacation and by chance I listened to Spotify and came across "Somewhere deep in the night"...And I realised that they had really developed their sound...I am born 1960 and have had the same musical soundtrack:from both film and music and art as them from my early days. They totally blowed me away and I followed up with "Where our love grows" and "Beatiful Mess". Three fantastic albums that I listened to the rest of the year and still does. I never get tired of them. They speak to my whole existence in a very special way. I love them for it...for the rest of my life...❤️

@@gertthorin1288 I think that's great. I was just telling my daughter that "it's better to travel" sounds as good today as it did when it was released.

I've always been a huge fan of Swing Out Sister since their debut album "It's Better To Travel" in 1986. This 1997 album found them back to their second album "Kaleidoscope World" sound and style. Just like their label once stated: "When you have a band like Swing Out Sister, you'd have a tough time pinpointing their sound. It's pop, it's urban, it's adult, it's jazz. Europe and Japan don't adhere to those rules as much as America does. It crosses over so many lines, and that's where Swing Out's strength is."

all is possible, what we wish to shape,it's true, we is synergy... ' So, if this is all there is Here am I In this life In this room In this house of dead dreams Now, suddenly all alone Out of mind Out of sight Out of touch with what happiness means Forgotten days that were so wild and wonderful The moon and stars were never far away [Chorus:] We could make it happen, we could touch the sky (We could touch the sky) Tomorrow's dreams are never far away (Never far away) We could make it happen, we could really fly (We could really fly) Just close your eyes and let the music play Run 'til I can't run anymore From each hour From each day Filled with emptiness since you've been gone Words, that never passed your lips Left unsaid In my head Left alone in the dark for too long You filled my mind with brilliant colors every single day But now the rain has washed them all away [Chorus x 2] Ba ba ba ba [Repeat]...' ; 7 ]

She was a great laugh all day: almost talked her into coming out to the 100 Club, 6Ts [Northern Soul] allnighter later, but we finished late etc. etc. Good looking video really, professional and that, just a little incongruous: I seem to remember the scooter was supposed to be him riding to meet her, but as they didn't dress me I just look like a 3rd person...

This song and clip are so inspired by the 60´s. The beat starts out as bossa nova and turns into feel-good song. The split screen effect was originally used by Pablo Ferro for the opening of "The Thomas Crown Affair" movie of 1968. Then we see takes of Corinne and her guy laughing and running that is so much like Truffaut´s " Jules Et Jim". In sum, not very original stuff, but so highly entertaining and tasteful.
