This is what the people have been asking for... For many a year the community has looked to Athlete's like our very own Darryl Stingley. And for years, he has given a tip, taught a class or a workshop here and there... Elite athletes have traveled to the realm of Sqvadron to train with our Grand Master and learn his ways. And now, in this time of great need, our leader has come forth with a piece of knowledge in order to free the mind and body of all those limitations and areas of confusion. So please enjoy the first volume of the Swing Work Series!
If you are being particularly hit hard by this time in our history, if your favorite gym has been temporarily or even permanently closed, we have something that will hopefully ease the pain and bring you some solace!
SQVADRON ATHLETICS ONLINE PROGRAMMING!
At this time we have released the entire program to the public and we're updating the information regularly. See step by step breakdowns like this, as well as additional visual aids and #ProTips straight from the Masters of Sqvadron!
Enjoy and let us know if there are any movements or training styles you want us to break down!
Remember, we only survive together!
We remain #UnitedByMotion! And we do it #4ThaSqvad!

what benefits do you get from the hollow body while swinging back. i guess more stability, or what?

Great video! One question though: he seems to be throwing the bar symmetrically until the bigger and leveled gaps, what are your thougths on this matter?
@ThaLegendarySqvadron
@ThaLegendarySqvadron 4 жыл бұрын
The symmetrical release is great for releasing all power at once. But it depends heavily on shoulder and T-Spine mobility and strength in deep range to pull off at a very high level of output. That being said, the asymmetrical release is what you will see most commonly used when the effort required increases significantly. However, when you delve into the asymmetrical release, you lose a bit of power if your hand releases are too far apart in time. Which is why you want to try to trim that time window down to as close to same time(symmetrical) release as you can comfortably perform. It is good to practice the symmetrical release on swings you feel comfortable trying that technique on. This will teach you to hit all body positions properly and get you off the bar with no power leak, assuming you perform the movement correctly. If you can get your symmetrical release comfortable and powerful, even on intermediate level swings, it will carry over to a better performed asymmetrical release.

Hey, Darryl! Great video, really. But i got a question: do you always see where you're going to land or is it normal that your chest blinds you after you leave the bars? Cause that happens to me a lot and i'm not sure it's right. Thanks, man!
@ThaLegendarySqvadron
@ThaLegendarySqvadron 4 жыл бұрын
If you are blind on your laches then it means you're likely not giving enough power to the throw. When you come through the bottom of the swing, there is a kick(The Tap), a hip thrust, and a throw, all in that order. If those 3 movements aren't timed properly or one of them is lacking in power, it can misdirect and even blind you. Make sure you're not swinging up and coming down onto your obstacle. Try to create a level path in which you gradually drop to your obstacle(assuming you're not doing swings too far above your hip height while hanging). You should be creating a flight path that is more linear than it is curved.
