SwingCase UnderCover Truck Bed Tool Box

I have had all my "roadside" tools in little bags under my seat for the past few years. As my collection has grown they started to take up too much space. I hate having loose stuff sliding around the bed of my truck so I started thinking of some solutions. I have a tonneau cover so I wanted something smaller that fits under there (not a big toolbox) I came across these Swing Case toolboxes and they instantly caught my eye because of the mounting location. I think I'll grab 2, but im afraid it will cover up my electrical outlet on the passenger side. That outlet has actually come in handy a couple of times. I guess if the swing box makes the outlet unavailable, I could always just take the box off real quick if I need the outlet.

Cut a hole in the swing plate with a grinder perhaps? Or take it to a metal shop and have the. Do it?

Can you still use your tie down? You mentioned the cargo net but I wondered how you used that? I’m thinking about this box but know after realizing I might not be able to use the tie down might be a deal breaker. Good video!

Just wondering if this product will be able to swing open if you have a 5th wheel hitch mounted between the wheels?

I’m not sure but I could measure the length at the widest point when swinging if you wanted to check on your truck. Or else maybe reach out to swing case directly.

It depends on the year of your truck I purchased two I never had to drill. My truck is a 2017 F150.

Yo dude, I'm driving a late year 08 F150 FX4, extended cab, flareside bed in shadow gray. Any idea if these boxes work with flareside beds?

I'm not too sure. I think even if it didn't fit you could possibly use some sort of spacers to make it work. Maybe shoot them an email and double check if you don't want to risk it.

What are the four slots on the side of the swing case for?

I am not sure. They aren't mentioned anywhere in the instructions. Might just be a design choice for rigidity because they show on the inside as well and they hold a lot of weight.

At first, but after several months they tend to leak. If you have a toneau cover that will keep them dry.

I've tried two of the less expensive versions. Both latches failed after a year and also with replacements. Any weight and bouncing in the back of a truck is just too much for the design. The latch needs to be redesigned.

How come none of these videos have people questioning cutting into your box liner and drilling holes into your box where water was not meant to drain out of. Moisture will surely get into these holes… Thoughts about this and rust issues as a result !?
