I have the cutest story. Back in the late 90s my oldest daughter was a toddler. One day she asked me to play the Emma song, I said What?, the Emma song(she had a daycare mate called Emma). My take....Corrine is always having fun when she sings. You can see it in her eyes, she is just enjoying herself. Too many performers are too serious. Lol. He had nothing to do with the song but the original is by African Americans called Young Holt Unlimited. An instrumental called Soulful Strut. Lyrics were put to it and sang by Barbara Acklin, title of song changed to Am I The Same Girl.
