What do you use to make a clear glossy finish after it dries, to somewhat resemble how it looks wet? The reviews I've read of most spray finishes smell bad and dry sticky which accumulates dust. Thank you, great picture! 😍
@marioguida26634 жыл бұрын
Yup..you got it down solid! You're tilting technique blew me away...you can all the right mixes and ratios and expensive paint bur if cannot tilt, you're results Will be mediocre. Again, WOW.. .you showed me how it's supposed to be executed..Stay safe! Ciao

I know this is old, but I used to sell paint at Lowes. There is no difference between the paint bases other than C and B have less paint than A because base C is for very dark colors that require a lot of tint. Base A os for very light colors that require very little tint. I hope this helps you in the future!

well, i am a commercial painting contractor and have 26 years painting highrise buildings, that is not what i have been taught touring and speaking with chemist/paint manufacturers.
@kathyvangogh4034 Жыл бұрын
No that’s incorrect. The base used for light colours has more titanium white in it. You can’t tint a base meant for light colours to a dark colour because you will always be fighting the white. There is a maximum amount of tint you can add before the ratio is off between drying agents, tint and polymer and the paint won’t dry properly. The same is true for the medium base, it’s just less titanium white in the base. The base for dark colours has no titanium white in it and will therefore not only allow the darkest colours but is also the most transparent.

Hope you're feeling better by now. I'm a total newbie to this art-form having done only 2 dirty cup pours. I've watched countless YT tutorials and this is the first I've seen of the swipe tech done this way. Your results is stunning! I don't recall hearing anyone explain the how and why you're tilting as you did, esp. bringing the weight of the paint back to center before manipulating it to another corner and the sides. Totally makes sense to me now. You might say it was an "ah ha" moment. Thanks so much for sharing.

Hi Erica. So glad I came across this again as the first time I didn't see the importance of the white paint and the added water for the cell formation so I was glad I added this page to my fave's and was able to come back to it and see where I was going wrong as I was having huge problems getting any cell to ''POP'' and after many many a bad pour/swipe I was looking at other styles as I thought this was just not going to work for me so I would like to thank you for posting this and I hope I can get that magic to transform my canvas and enjoy my art as much as you and your friends. Cheers!!........P.s......Greetings from Limerick! :)

Hi Erica! I love your irk! Just wanted to mention the differences in the bases for house paint. I worked for Sherwin Williams years ago. The deep base (or base c) is for deeper color mixes. The A and so on are for light or pastel colors. This is something I wouldn’t know had I not worked in that business. So for mixing house paint with craft paints - I would always recommend the deep base.

Gorgeous and my colors. I wonder however why the white paint was so thick, wouldn't it flow easier if it were a tad thinner and possibly avoid cracks? I'm still learning however , its a stunning piece of art. Good Job.
