I was an adult quite a while before smart phones existed and I think I must be immune to addiction when I hear about these things.

I don't know exactly why, but I would have guessed that this wouldn't be a problem for an autistic child unless technology became one of their fixations.

As the mother of an autistic 5 year old I thought it was rich of the dr blaming screen time and effectively lazy parenting for all the struggles my child faced starting school this September. Lockdown started when she was 4 mths and everything closed. Those children were forgotten by all public services and they hit the development stage for talking when everyone was still wearing masks. In the absence of any other help my child was only introduced to screen time after she had already missed the key milestones and in the world of never ending wait lists and a lack luster service from speech and language my child wouldn’t be able to say as much as she does now without it! The scare mongering and lack of accountability in this segment of the documentary made me very angry. Parents of Neuro diverse children don’t need this type of rhetoric! Other parents will quote this as a gospel to pass judgment which is so unhelpful, unkind and irresponsible. Until they have properly done studies into the full picture it is easy to say it’s all the fault of screen time!
