The audio is remarkably good for a shit camcorder from the 1990s. Or is it because the songs sound super close to the way they're played on the album? So amazing that this exists. It makes me want to cry.

This band fell through the cracks somehow. And this performance of this song is pretty much a match with the album. A great American give-no-fux indie rock band.

i found this band not too long ago and immediately fell in love with their art, amazing it’s so raw and creative and chaotic

So glad they did Tall Ships - that's in most of their live performances, looks like, and for good reason I think. It's personally perhaps my favorite, though they've obviously got a lot of awesome tracks. This band should've been as big as Slowdive, etc. I bet they could do a reunion tour now and make a killing.

Cool! I saw them that year in Berkeley. They played so late I missed the last train back under the bay to S.F. My girlfriend and I had to sleep in the BART station.

What venue was that at? I was two years old in Berkeley then, and I just saw them for the first time in SF tonight! They were great.

Great recording. Saw this tour and the first in S.F. Sadly very few people knew the swirlies back then. People didn’t know what to do with them. Sorta shoegaze, sorta noise, sorta sorta punk, sorta prog? Damon’s songwriting was ahead of his time. Love they are finally getting some well deserved recognition after so many years. My favorite band of all time.

I saw them for this tour (1996) in Cincinnati at Sudsy's. Damon was in rare form that night, and between songs, he kept referencing Danzig from the EVILLIVE record. It was hilarious. "Gotta tune up! Been pounding these guitars..."

Who is the drummer here/that period of Swirlies?
@johanm89352 жыл бұрын
I assumed that it was Anthony Deluca because he played in Swirlies' second album. But I think it's Gavin McCarthy. He is the drummer in Karate. They are really good if anyone have not checked them out.
