ok so how do i sand off metallic paint? ive chipped my guitar and i can see the different lairs of paint and the top lair (the metallic paint) seems to almost be plastic, i have a fear that the metallic paint won't sand off properly Any help is appreciated.

that's incredible im a painter from Australia and I do lots of weird stuff. just wondering do you use water and just drop bits of basecoat colour into the mix? is it ok to clear over the top or do you have to use a special coating in the middle?

they have been doing that in almost every car factory for years now. its called electrostatic painting. the car gets submerged in a bath with water and paint pigments that are charged negatively, whilst the car is charged positively. hence the paint ad hears to the car. at bmw they even flip the car horizontally a full 360 degrees in the paint.
