This tournament actually helped me see this game in a different light. I'm by no means a good player but I have a lot more respect for what people might call, "toxic play". Mainly the tactical aspect of decisions, tunneling, camping all in an environment where everybody understands the purpose of it and the value of it along with taking the responsibility of playing around it. Not to mention the restrictions in the tournament were very well thought out and really seemed to balance the game In way that made the matches more enjoyable. Mad respect to everybody involved in the gameplay, commentary, and setup!

Remember though, this is tournament play. There is money at stake. In a normal game, you don't need to be toxic. There is no prize. There's only Bloodpoints and an invisible rank.

@@SarcasticData I understand, that's why I emphasized the environmental factor. The professional environment demands this whereas normal play doesn't. However, A LOT of people play the game to win, because they enjoy winning. One can complain that one side is being sweaty and, "toxic" but at the end of the day that's the same as not taking responsibility for playing around it. And if someone is truly a casual player then they shouldn't care and find ways to enjoy things such as how ruthless the killer is or other funny moments during gameplay. I fully understand that if someone gets eliminated from the game before anyone else gets hooked, that can feel really bad, but that still only happens if survivors do terrible rescues or the killer camps the hook. One way it's the survivors fault, the other way, the killer isn't applying pressure anywhere else and that hooked person is doing more than anyone else in the game by stalling the killer. All I'm saying is there's more ways to enjoy the game than demanding, "fair" play. Not to mention base play doesn't have restrictions which inherently makes it necessary to play around certain very powerful and, "unfair" things that don't even involve anything else I've talked about.

I’m really excited Swish is hosting another tournament and bringing back Tofu, Ralph, and Justyn. I watch Tofu and Ralph regularly and they’ve managed to make comp exciting for someone like me who doesn’t watch comp DBD a whole lot. Highlights for me with this tournament was how smoothly Swish and his team ran the back end of things, Justyn’s expertise, and the chemistry between Tofu and Ralph. Add all of those things together with seeing familiar faces from playing on NA East, I loved this enough to watch live on stream and rewatched the KZbin videos. Most importantly for me as a viewer, I loved seeing Tofu and Ralph get excited from crazy plays along with the audience. I’ve watched only a handful of other tournaments, but their energy brought its own entertainment to the table. I can’t wait for more Ralph puns and Tofu reactions! Swish- good shit dude, proud of you for what you’ve done here!

I was really confused how Demise won the Nurse match? I was like Tofu, I didn't count hook states, I was caught up on how many got out, and it sure felt like Jinx outplayed Demise regardless of the score. Still Demise dominating with Spirit and Twins made up for the Meh win they got with Nurse. The best team obviously won. Great content Tofu. I'm down for you to host a tourney sometime in 2022.

With how scoring works a fresh escape (someone who didn't get hooked once) gives the survivors more points. The other nurse hooked more unique survivors, so they got more points.

Are most tournaments this restrictive? I feel like 23 survivor perks banned against Hag is wild. As a disclaimer I am by no means a high skill player, this question is purely as an outside viewer. Also, why are the killer perks HUD blocked?

I think the banned perks just come down to the fact that they’re just really good when a group of survivors have comms and perfect coordination. So it just makes the matches closer and more fun/interesting. The hud is blocked because even with the delay, a team could watch the stream, and see if the killer has endgame perks like no ed or no way out and be able to play around them in advance. Like clearing all the totems on map to prevent a no ed spawn or know to tap the door and hide for no way out.

Weaker killers means more perks are restricted for the survivors, these guys are not your average pub randos, they have good comms and perfect coordination, a simple perk like deliverance can make a good chase to a waste of killer’s time, they can just tell their teammates to reset or focus on gens. HUD block is to prevent stream sniping and whispering information to the other team to gain advantage knowing someone who have ds/unbreakable/deli can change a match drastically.

Feedback: I absolutely love competetive gameplay, so I was really excited to see this. As someone who only plays survivor, I was obviously pretty dissapointed that there was no survivor gameplay and stopped watching as soon as I realized that. So my question would be: Why is there no switching through the different povs and showing survivors perspectives as well?. I do enjoy watching killer sometimes though. So I might come back later and watch this.

There's a problem with it as everyone in comp uses stretched resolution. Using stretched rez in a comp setting isn't a problem, because everyone agrees to it. When survivors use stretched rez, spectating them all you see is them staring at the ground, because that's how they see the most things around them. In the start of this tournament Tofu tried to watch from the survivor perspective, but switched to only killer, because you couldn't see anything.

WTF man, Demise´s Blight played so awfully bad specially at EGC. At least they did great with Spirit. Staff decisions and RNG played for better games in favor of Jinx. Really looks like this much advantage was overlooked by the staff on purpose. Allow aura readers on Blight, are you guys for real?! The game I enjoyed the most was The Twins completely demolishing Jinx, it was just awesome! It´s great you guys bring these Tournaments for us to watch but there was so many wrong stuff going on. Unbalanced teams facing each other. Many of them did not even seem to be experient enough to go into a tournament so you really should find a way to aprove real good players and teams to actually provide good entertainement. Not allowing camping would be a good start like deny the use of certain addons on those already strong killers. More maps around would also be a good thing because it gets really boring to watch the same environments over and over again. Other than what I said, good job. Gonna watch the 2nd Tournament and see if there was any improvement compared to this one, I really hope so...Cheers!

I hate competition games in DbD. I appreciate the footage and the time people take to get so good at the game but it's BORING! The same killers with the same perks running against survivors using the same builds. The margin is so close that if the names of the participants were hidden you wouldn't know who was playing. It's that bland. But, I'm glad that the footage was shown so we had the opportunity to look at what comp play is like, so thank you and keep up the great work.

Each bracket had separate killers and yes, whilst the builds where extremely similar, that's just a balancing issue for what's the best on the games part, this tournament balances best it can for each killer with perks, add-ons and other things being banned so I personally thought it was really well done

The survivors all need to run unique perks. With the exception of borrowed time, which two survivors could run. In addition dead hard is banned against most of the killers. The rules are in the description.
