There's many things that pushed LeBron to go but if I had to pick, I'd say it was the 2018 finals that was the final nail in the coffin. LeBron barely dragging the Cavs to the finals and having a 51pt game come to nothing because of a stupid mistake by a teammate, is what made LeBron realise that he can't do any more for Cleveland. And he's right he can't get nothing from sticking with the Cavs. It all comes down to the Cavs team and it's management, their 2 best players leaving was inevitable.

Obviously Curry was the piece holding everything together, but if you speak in terms of what put the Warriors over the top , it was Kevin Durant.

There will be multiple arguments about who the best player was from 2016 to 2019 when KD was on the roster, but no doubt about it, he was by far the MVP on that Warriors team. He was basically a merc for hire. Because even after that epic 73-9 GS Warriors season, the Dubbs were exposed. If that Warriors team stayed intact without signing KD, no doubt about it, the Cavs would have beat the Warriors again in the 2017 Finals. And about the 2016 Finals, Draymond Green was responsible, or LeBron over dramatized the extracurricular activity between him and Draymond. But Draymond's 1 game suspension created a domino effect. What made the Warriors so effective was that amazing chemistry. Green out, the Warriors had to step things up a bit and then Andrew Bogut went down in game 5. Bogut, as an effective center was a lot more valuable than perceived. Injuries happen. I also feel that if Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving was able to play in 2015 Finals, the results of that series would've been a whole lot different. Things happen.

LeBron is a player that can get in the collective heads of players on the opposing team. Some players have that presence. Michael Jordan had it when he faced the Cleveland Cavaliers and NY Knicks. Kobe Bryant definitely had it when only his presence would intimidate the opposing teams. Certain players simply have that intimidation due to how talented and good they are. I think teams like the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors were not at all intimidated by LeBron. I honestly believe that if the Warriors did not pick up Kevin Durant, the Cavs had the Warriors number. It was smart on the Warriors part to sign Kevin Durant to a multi-year contract. After the Kevin Durant signing, the LeBron led Cavs did not have a chance.
