Swiss and International Trains in Zurich Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) - Traffic Highlight 2022

Clips of arriving and departing national and international short and long distance trains in the biggest swiss railway station Zurich Hauptbahnhof.
You can see any swiss railroad passenger type of the SBB (Swiss Federal Railway Company) as well as international services like ICE (Germany) TGV (France) Railjet (Austria) and very interesting international Night Trains from Amsterdam, Berlin, Bratislava and Zagreb.
Most trains are operated by modern articulated trains like the "Giruno" "Kiss" and "Flirt" by Stadler or the Twindexx (Bombardier) or ICN / IC2000 Trains.
Some trains (to Stuttgart, Chur, Graz, Singen and most of the nighttrains) are still regularly operated with old Re 420 engines. Some have very comfortable "Panorama" dome cars.
The trains on the old Gotthard Mountain Route to Locarno (via Erstfeld, Göschenen, Airolo) and some trains to Bern and Chur are operated by the private company SOB (Südostbahn).

Unbelievable, Mind boggling, complexity point switching and signaling. I can just imagine how busy the control room should be. I have travelled a lot through Europe by train as well as in Switzerland but never imagine how complex it is.

The SBB has several control rooms for the entire country, this is the control room for the east sector (in German): kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZWYd2SIi56Ubdk It is indeed complex, but there's a high level of automation. Nonetheless, humans still control the system!

Ein Meisterstück - und sofort ein Abo wert. Solch ein Motiv, so viel Bewegung, Parallelfahrten, Schlängeln durch Weichengassen und alles mit so sympathischer Kameraführung, Tele immer zum richtigen Zeitpunkt eingesetzt aber ruhig und flüssig. Respekt und Dank, nur wer selbst filmt erkennt, mit welcher Begeisterung und Professionalität hier der Kameramann am Werk war. Aber was zählen schon schöne Worte der Anerkennung - über 2 Mio Aufrufe, das ist Anerkennung, die Dir ohne Zweifel zusteht. Gäbe es einen 'Bildschirmschoner', der das Gewusel auf einem Stellwerktisch darstellen würde, ich brauchte keine Minute des Nachdenkens, um mir den zu kaufen.

Das Gleisfeld sieht ja mega aus. Da muss aber alles gut gestellt sein und Langsamfahrt ist angesagt. Viel Bewegung für die Züge hier im Schlängelmodus. Alleien der Oberleitungsbau ist hier doch eine Herausforderung und bestimmt sehr kompliziert.

Hi! Thanks for whatching! The Re 420 / Re 4 4 II runs at the moment (April 2022) on all IC trains from Zurich to Singen (service to Stuttgart). Further regular services are: the "Nightjet" to Amsterdam (until Basle), the Eurocity "Transalpin" to Graz (until Buchs) as well as the "Nightjets" to Bratislava and Zagreb (until Buchs) and some (not many) InterCity to Chur.
