It doesn't take a genius to rewatch the video and see for themselves. Watch it again and you will see that at around 53 seconds the man kicks out some sort of trapeze-like bar that he stands on for the remainder of the flight. It doesn't take much to watch an actual real video of someone else taking off and then comparing the two videos. I'm not looking for money or clout i'm simply just calling this man out to be a fake. Who gives a shit if the world is flat or round? That has nothing to do with the fact that this man FAKED this video and EVERYONE fell for it INCLUDING myself!

Very fortunate to be alive. I witnessed a solo hanglider pilot launch unclipped at the bowl by the London Gliding Club at Dunstable Downs. Luckily he dropped about 6m onto the grassy slope and was uninjured. His glider crossed the bowl without him and hit the opposite side of the bowl. The impact was very sharp and metallic. The pilot retrieved the glider and after a steep clim back to where we were he started to re-rig. We argued with him that his rig needed a professional inspection. Eventually he realised that we were right.

I'm a tandem hang gliding instructor. I have logged about 1000 hours of tandem flight time. I am so sorry about what happened to you. It is inexcusable that the pilot didn't do a hang check to make sure you were clipped in and all the straps were straight. The pilot should have his rating pulled or resign from ever flying tandem again. On a funnier note, I know of a man who had planned a tandem flight with his dog. In his case, he did hook his dog into the glider. Unfortunately, he forgot to hook himself in. He launched his dog off into the air and he fell to the ground. The dog flew around solo for a few minutes and eventually crashed back to earth. The dog was in good shape. Very unfortunate about your wrist and arm. I wish you a good recovery.

It really is impressive what he did here. Not sure that most people realize how hard it would have been to hold on that long. He wasint just holding onto a bar he was holding onto a bar attached to wings flying thru the air. The G-force likely made it even harder to hold on at some points. Tom cruise aint got shit on this guy but im sure jackie chan would appreciate this insane accidental stunt.

@@Box0rz I know who he is. I even know he is in scientology. Tom has done some insane stunts but he always uses tons of safety gear and has a small army safety pros. Don't get me wrong Toms stunts are cool but when jackie chan is mentioned with him i always feel the need to point out that tom doesn't even come close to jackie chan.

I`ve been flying Hang Gliders since 97. We always hook the harness to the hang loop before we climb into the harness, we always do a hang test also, preferably at the launch right before takeoff. If we decide not to launch we climb out of the harness, never unhook and walk around. I have nightmares about launching while not hooked in. It`s that fear that keeps me safe. With a tandem passenger it may not be practical to have the passenger climb into the harness after attaching it to the hang strap so other measures and checks need to be standard procedure. Being human we make mistakes, proper checks are designed to minimize the human's mistakes. Fear is an excellent motivator. But I'm happy to see the attitude of the poor bugger that had the fright is to learn and get back on the horse, he has the right attitude to become a very safe pilot in his own right. That attitude is rare today in the world of cotton wool kids,,,
