I just picked up one today as well, it’s crazy the quality for the price. If the blade was produced in the USA would easily be over $100. Side note- the knife has a limited lifetime warranty! I’ll buy a few more hard to beat for price

Reminds me a lot of my Old Hickory from Ontario. Man I miss your videos! I was super concerned about non-laminated VG10 in the woods because it's a more chippy steel but it seems to have done well

its weird how china can crank out better fit and finish with good materials for 49 but you can get crappy american made stuff for 85 bucks including wonky entire base line grinds on a blade that dont lineup at all..if it had atops logo on it the price would be 300 usd

Swiss tech knives are based out of Idaho they are also used widely by the military as well there are still some good companies out there just takes time to find them

As a long time knife maker and collector I tell you Chinese knives has came a long ways in the last few years. I have a Rockwell tester and the steel used in most Chinese knives now days is nothing to sneeze at. My grandfather had a sharpening shop back in the 1960’s and helped him sharpen saw blades, push lawn mowers, kitchen cutlery, hand saws and just about everything that had a blade on it. I’ve sharpened 1000’s of knives and can say from experience that most of the new Chinese knives now days are good stuff. It pains me to say this.
