People confuse things here. One thing is the product and the passenger experience and then there's the aviation part. Ryanair is a European company, subject to the same quality standards, training and regulations as any other European airline. Ryanair engines aren't "Ghetto" engines. They're 737 engines like you'd find in any other 737 airplane. Then there's the landings. Ryanair pilots fly A LOT. They land the airplane many many more times per week than an Emirates pilot does in a whole month. These pilots are trained in the same flightschools as any other pilot in any other European airline. There's absolutely no reason to believe that the airplane is flown in different safety standards in this airline or in any other airline. If anything, Ryanair is famous for being very very strict when it comes to procedures and training. So yeah, comment on the product (it's cheap no frills travel for sure), but don't extend that to the aeronautics.

It's similar to Jet fighters on Aircraft carriers - when you have a short runway you have to hit ground hard to absorb energy and slow down quicker so you don't end up in the water. I would like to share my perspective regarding your conclusion about Ryanair, which I believe may have been influenced by a limited sampling of airline experiences. Please allow me to elaborate on this matter in a respectful and comprehensive manner. It is my humble contention that your assessment of Ryanair is, perhaps, based solely on your encounters with this particular airline, without having had the opportunity to explore alternative options. While I acknowledge the validity of your opinion, I kindly request that you consider widening the scope of your evaluation by taking into account the diverse range of airlines available in the industry. By sampling various airlines, you would have the chance to compare and contrast the services, amenities, and overall quality provided. Such an expanded viewpoint would not only enhance the fairness of your judgment but also enable you to form a more comprehensive assessment of Ryanair's performance. I firmly believe that a broader perspective is crucial in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of any subject matter. With utmost respect, I would like to inquire whether my assumption holds true. Might it be possible that your conclusion is derived solely from experiences with Ryanair, without any reference to other airlines? I kindly request your confirmation or correction, as I value your insight and would appreciate the opportunity to further discuss this matter with you.

This is not up to the companies to decide and there's constant surprise inspections anywhere on any turnaround. Ryanair, with the amount of airplanes they have and flights they do per day, cannot afford to have anything other than top level maintenance and operation on their airplanes. If any of these aspects was poor, imagine how catastrophic it would be. An airplane poorly maintained is an airplane on the ground, not flying. So for anyone worried about the state of the engines or airworthiness of the plane, don’t be. Besides a whole bunch of strict laws about commercial airliners being safe to fly, every single time one lands, even during quick turnarounds an engineer will pull up alongside the aircraft in his van and give the aircraft a brief but careful examination. And then, even as the ground crews refuel, refill the water tank, empty the septic tank is emptied, the inbound baggage is removed from the belly hold and outbound luggage is loaded, the cleaners are busy aboard and the first officer is doing some of his preflight work, the captain goes outside and does the same examination the engineer did not ten minutes before and makes the decision if he deems the plane fit to fly. Okay sometimes it’s the first officer that will do the walk around inspection-usually when the weather is bad. 😉 It might seem obvious here, but the pilots lives depend on the airworthiness of the plane and unless one is suicidal they want to survive the flight. (They’re regularly given full medical and psychological examinations to try and prevent a psychological break or something like a heart attack as much as possible.) I have to admit that, partially because I’m actually dating a Ryanair pilot I found this video pretty funny. The characteristic hard landings are part the result of really wanting to avoid the possibility of an expensive go around and part inexperienced new pilots.

Frankly I haven’t flown with any other airline than Ryanair yet…and I was travelling around Europe pretty much this summer. IMO it’s actually pretty good. Flights are often as cheap as 10€, adding 15€ per flight for cabin luggage (so backpack = free, second luggage = 15€) I would pay around 25-30€ per flight. It gets me to the place I want to be and mostly on time. Put your AirPods in and you can ignore the sales people also known as flight attendants… Sure you could get some better service with Lufthansa or other airlines but why would I pay 5x the amount per flight if I could spent that money in something waaaayyyy better like renting a boat on vacation… IMO Ryanair is worth it I know this video is mostly entertaining but y’all pretend like it’s the worst thing on earth 😂

I feel I should clarify few things: An airline operating in Europe must always comply with the rules and limits in place. Ryanair does this whilst reducing costs and achieving performance. It's called business efficiency. There is not such a thing as "luck" in the Aviation industry. They are flying with this operating model since 1984. If no serious accidents have occurred after nearly 40 years of operations to me just means that they are doing something right. Responding to @GrahamCook without prejudice (and keeping an open mind) about the fuel issue, in no case Ryanair has been found in breach of any rules. Back in 2012 an article form the Daily Mail (they love controversy) stated that such fuel emergency happened in 3 occasions where the crew had to issue a Mayday call. However this was due to exceptional circumstances that could have reasonably put any other aircraft at risk (unforeseen bad weather). In the article is stated that: "The watchdogs accept that all three Ryanair planes left for Madrid 'with fuel in excess of Flight plan requirements' and also with fuel 'in excess of the minimum diversion fuel' required, so remained strictly within the rules" . So they were always in compliance with the rules in force. Guess what happened, the regulator has changed the rules for this not to happen again to any other operator. Ryanair operates a very efficient "bus with wings" and "no frills" concept either you like it or not. If you don't like it please use another airline, so I can get a cheaper seat! :)

07:15 I work at a US airport. Most CFM56 engines look like that - whether it's Southwest, Delta, JetBlue, Allegiant, Sun Country, etc doesn't really matter. Not sure how they get like that but it's definitely normal!
@Milnoc3 жыл бұрын
The 737 was originally designed to be low to the ground for smaller airports that didn't have jet bridges and used stairs instead. Over the years, bigger and more efficient engines were being developed, but the 737 remained low to the ground. The flat bottom you see on certain 737s is where they took out as many engine parts as possible, flattening the bottom so that the engine wouldn't touch the ground. When the 737 MAX was built, the engines had finally grown too big for the 50 year old design. Boeing engineers moved the engines forward and higher to ensure proper clearance with the ground. Unfortunately, that dramatically changed the flight characteristics of the plane, making it pitch up more than what 737 trained pilots were used to seeing. Boeing engineers added the MCAS system to restore the 737's original flight characteristics by pushing the nose down if a sudden non-commanded pitch-up was detected by a single sensor located outside the plane. Unfortunately, the single sensor malfunctioned catastrophically on two flights, and the MCAS pushed the plane down to the ground to the utter confusion of the flight crew who were never properly informed about MCAS or trained on how to safely shut it down if it ever went wonky.

MCAS wasn't aware of the fault and proceeded to pitch the nose down and fly the plane right into the ground.

It actually depends a lot on the runway and it's condition weather it's dry or wet, weather the runway is on a bit of a slope etc. Also Ryanair flies to many secondary airports which have shorter runways than main airports, so they have to use full auto brakes, flap 40, full reverse thrust in some cases all of which will make the landing feel more rough from a passengers point of view even though it's normal and completely safe in those situations.

Why blame budget carriers! Have flown in Ryanair more than 10 times and have had only 1 bad experience, but rest of them have all been at par! One airhostess even gave me a glass of water for free when i had bouts of cough! NO COMPLAINTS WHATSOEVER AGAINST RYANAIR!! Think about Swissair, lufthansa, SAS, Norweigian and look at their prices!! Their prices are never almost justified!! LONG LIVE RYANAIR, we love their model, they get us to places at affordable prices and that's all we ask for. Try taking the trains and see how your bank balance comes crashing down the next time!

You pay a f@cling ticket for 9-40€ if you want some better sits better leg room or I don’t know what than pay for the same trip four times higher prise..I’m flying with Ryan every month for four years straight and I have nothing bad to say except only one bad landing

I'm becoming almost a regular expert with Ryanair (almost 8 years now) and I actually love the crew members (well in this case the Italians since I always fly there). The landings... half of them weren't that bad, but I still remember when I almost kissed the ceiling with a 10/10 jump landing, and got pneumonia the next day (my air-conditioning was broken).

6:08 it’s pretty normal that they use busses to get to the plane. It’s not only Ryan but many more airlines and it also relies on the airport.

As a check-in agent that does check-in for ryanair there's some credit to be given to ryanair. While yes just as your stereotypical low cost has hidden fees left and right, they are very straight forward with their rules. They're pretty much black on white in terms of rules and such. I also do other airliners, and some have these massive gray areas which makes it hard to explain to pax. Obviously the rates can be outrageous (i'm talking 55 euros for an airport check-in)
@ondrakapalin9862 жыл бұрын
I am also check-in agent and I must agree. I love that Ryanair is honest. Simply "you have got what have you paid for". ACI could be less, but also why not. PAX should read emails about online check-in.

@@sdwdidi5079 Yeah, when flying with Portugal airline, I couldn't find if we had to pay seperate for bags or not. Later I found that we had one bag included and extra's would have to be payed for. But when I got to the airport they told me that both bags would need extra payment. (I booked for two persons. On the one trip, both bags were included and on the return they weren't?) Ryanair is definately better in the regard. At least you know how much it will cost. Airlines like TAP on the other hand will put extra charges in just before you board the plane!

I flew Ryanair from Stansted to Warsaw and back this week. It got me there, and it got me back - all on time. For £20, what more could you reasonably want? What more would have I got for £150 tickets?
@activated11383 жыл бұрын
@@morganmitchell4017 Exactly. It was just fine for our purposes. We often flew EPKK-EGHH and didn't have many issues. My main problem is with the Ryanair luggage system - getting an extra suitcase almost doubled the cost of the entire flight, and the carry-on limit was very tiny

At the end of my flight, my knees are usually burning from being rammed into the hard plastic for a couple of hours. To be fair, I haven't flown any other airline, since I only travel to see my parents, but other than my poor knees- I don't really have anything bad to say about Ryanair. They're cheap, so I don't expect a complementary chute of champagne on my flight!

As an European teen that has 99% of my flights being short and fast flights, not even requiring any extra baggage besides a small backpack (Ryanair doesn't charge extra for), Ryanair is my most flown airline, its not comfortable but paying less then 10€ for a two hour flying bus trip from one country to another is a great option for me, Ryanair gets lots of hate but they move all the broke people around, and I'm one of them😂I think Ryanair doesn't deserve hate, for people that don't really care about flight entertainment or good food and seating, people who just want to move from on country to another, its a great airlines for their overall price, besides, in terms of employment they are great, to become a flight attendant for Ryanair you barely need any experience on anything (this was said by a Ryanair flight attendant from my family), and it also allows lots of starting pilots to enter the industry, and that's also a reason why the landings are not the best, some of them are starting their career. That's my opinion on Ryanair.

I've had Lufthansa flights to Spain and back as well as Ryanair flights, and the only differences I have seen are: a net in the front seat in Lufthansa and a free bottle of water plus a small sandwich that I couldn't finish because it was absolutely disgusting. You can buy water for 3€ in a Ryanair flight and it doesn't really make a significant difference on the fare compared to Lufthansa. On the short haul European market, they are pretty much interchangeable
