Naples Italy Metro System Ride Experience. Surprising Metro in Ancient City

Some things to mention: 0:09 not every line on this map is a metro: the orange lines are funiculars, the “circumvesuviana“, “circumflegrea” and “cumana“ lines are railways that serves the suburbs. Line 2 isn’t a real metro, that are suburban trains of the national train company Trenitalia, marked as metropolitan trains (“M” like a normal metro or “MET”). On the section between Napoli Piazza Garibaldi / Napoli San Giovanni Barra an Pozzuoli Solfatara they are marked as linea 2. Line 6 Mostra - Augusteo - Lala - Mergellina ist currently out of service because they are extending the line to the station Muncipio, with the new stops Arco Mirelli, San Pasquale and Chiaia. The line is expected to open in 2024. Stop “duomo” on the line 1 - which is managed by the city operator anm - is in service since 2021. 1:09 the last section between Università and Garibaldi was opened in december 2013. 1:18 in detail, they will add the stations Poggioreale, Tribunale, Centro Direzionale, Capodichino (Airport), Di Vittorio, Secondigliano, Regina Margherita and Miano, so that line 1 will become a ring-line. 2:09 new “CAF inneo” trains just entered service on line 1.

Nice video! Thanks for uploading. I'm going to Naples next month and thinking of buying an online ticket. Do you know how to go through the ticket barrier with a digital ticket on mobile phone?

Don't do that! First off, it may be from a 3rd party website that may charge you more than the ticket cost. Secondly, you can buy it there at any station or at a convenience store. I'd be surprised if you use the system for more than 3 rides

La metropolitana di Napoli è considerata tra le più belle d’Europa. Moderna e progettata da alcuni dei maggiori architetti del mondo. Nel tuo video non hai fatto vedere nulla. Un pessimo video.

I understand some of the stations are nice but not all. I wish I had more time to explore the system but there is only so much time. Additionally I want to show the ride experience not just the beauty of the station
