Great review, I am definitely going with a Gerber. My buddy has one and I am jealous. One thing I really like is the replaceable wire cutters on the pliers.

I’ve had one for about 6weeks and I wish I had a video like this to warn me. I’m going to get the multi force like I should have got in the first place. These looks way cool but that’s it they look cool and that’s a good lesson to learn. He was right about the sheath by the way. Once the leather broke in it was pretty good. It was sleek and not bulky like most cheap sheaths.

That leather sheath for the SwissTech is pretty close to what Leatherman used to provide for the Charge. It doesn’t seem to be available anymore from Leatherman. And I seem to recall seeing a photo of a SwissTech plier where the top of the pivot popped off. It was made to look like a hex head, but in reality it was just pressed on like a rivet.

I bought one because I really liked the way it looks. My pliers handles aren't as loose as yours, although as with a lot of these clones and near clones, I think that's mostly luck of the draw. Overall, I'm happy with mine, though I fully acknowledge that it was kind of expensive for what it is.

Interesting comments on the file. Have you seen the new small VIctorinox straight cut file on the Companion and Cadet? Wondered your opinion of it? I kind of expected the Gordon to be part of this comparison. Between the Multiforce and the Gordon - which do you prefer? Both seem to improve on the original Wave in different ways.

that file is strictly for your nails basically. In every other capacity its quite meh. I think I like the multiforce better, I'm not a huge fan of the Leatherman style bits.

good review. i think a lot of the extra cost must being going to the better sheath, steel and that special coating. but yeah the tool choices are kind of worse. at least it looks cool. maybe ill pick one up if it goes on sale. interesting to not also both swisstech and workpro are owned by the same company so they are actually the same brand. i believe they are called great star or something. i think it's possible they just don't want to pump out the same tool under different brands from a business standpoint. aesthetically the swisstech one fits with their design language

Why do some saw have a piece cut out of the tip. Has the u shape cut out on the tip of the saw what is that for

The 6x1 mm magnet does not worked for me. I bought a 10 pack 2 of them broke because of the double sided bit and the rest were so weak pulled out by a 6mm hex. The bottom of the adapter is not flat! You cant rest the magnet there.

one more thing. this looks like the 17 in 1 practich. can you also do a review for the 11 in 1 uberall. i think it is actually a "mini" tool but it might be a newer model and also includes the same style sheath.
