I welcome that format very much! Topics have exactly been for me as a Switch and XBox user but it cant be that every time. I would like to have something to look at from time to time like screenshots, charts etc. maybe because I am used to that. But you are just the right person to host such a news format because of your objectiveness (personal opinion) but I also love to see you rage about topics.

No edit format is good, I usually listen with phone in my pocket with KZbin Premium anyway.

Even though longer videos like these tend to not do well, I enjoy them a lot. I just put it in the background to hear someone talk about something that interests me while I do chores, play games, cook, etc. The fact that this format is much easier and less time consuming for you to make is even better. Hopefully more to come. I'm too lazy to keep up with everything in the gaming industry so I look for others to do it for me lol

Follow up input: - I sadly don't have much to say about these, mostly because I just like being a sponge for information - The format as it was in this one, was as you said so yourself, a bit long in the tooth - I don't mind the talking head version, but if it's long and focusing on very few talking points, it's easy for one's focus to drift away

@@gmaro6568 This specific type of content isn't too time consuming as it's low production, so if people like this format that's great news! Video essays etc as of late have come with time in between projects elsewhere when the mood strikes and take much more time so will likely be less frequent which is fine because I'd rather not force video essays if I can avoid it.

First time watcher and I subscribed in a heartbeat! It’s like a Technical Alpha but Adam’s Cut. With the Switch 2, I will buy it on launch day as long as they have an OLED version and it’s backward compatible with some kind of enhancement for OG games

The problem with a switch 2 is that nintendo is still not going to aim for 60 fps. we have seen that they are not requiring it from devs. we can barely got 30 fps for pokemon. It makes me wonder if they are changing the game cartridge for Switch 2 games. i do wonder with the upgrade in tech will it cause the devs to make choices where to put the game or will they have to develop for both and therefore games might take longer to come out? In terms of Xbox it make sense that game sales go up because of activision if it didn't that would be wild. i feel like a mid gen console update is going to be problematic based on what you mentioned about devs having to cater to the Switch S which in this long run looks like it was a bad idea to have since we are not utilising the Series X/Ps5 fully. feel like xbox is kinda double dipping into two zones at the same time and it might cause a problem for them. we already know that hardware sales of consoles are not it but is xbox really committing to a new console. seems like a waste given that there current consoles are not doing well in comparison to PS5. i think xbox should be focusing on gamepass and game releases. the joke is Playstation has no games but man xbox has less then none.

Xbox definitely still needs their own hardware to some degree to create a floor for Game Pass subscribers along with PC. If they can sell 75M consoles, they're going to want to try. Games sell consoles, and so their biggest hurdle will be converting all these acquisitions into killer apps that move hardware and sell Game Pass subscriptions.

Honestly the steam deck fits my hands far better than the switch. Could be because I have larger hands but I think the thicker design of it fits in your hands better than the switch. I'd love if the new switch rests nicer for longer play. I keep having to remind myself that switch 2 is coming everytime I see a switch oled

I imagine it would be the same for me, but at the same time I feel like anything that fits my hands well is probably not ideal for taking with you on the go haha.

@@CritiqalHit Yea the Steamdeck's carrying case is huge. Fitting that in a backpack takes up most of a section compared to the tiny switch lol

I think that Nintendo hit the jackpot with the Switch. I'm not the type to play games on the go, so having a console at home that allows me to sit on the couch and play Nintendo games is what I enjoy. However, my wife loves having the Switch with her during her commute. So with one console, we both have our ways of enjoying the great catalogue of titles that Nintendo put out. It's the best of both world that you can't get with an Xbox or Playstation. At this point, iterating on the Switch seems like a good direction for Nintendo for the foreseeable future. Having pro versions of PS5 and Xbox feels out of place, and I believe it might be caused by the period where games come out for both the older consoles and the new gen being longer than in previous gens. We also have to remember that actually getting consoles during the first few years was almost impossible (pandemic and all that). Many games on the ps5 look and play amazing and its hard to envision what the refresh will add to the experience. It might be a case of 3rd party game developers not having fully mastered the tech of current gen of consoles yet. With tech progressing faster in recent years, it might take some time before we can reach the full potential of video game entertainment.

I have not had the interest in finding the time or the money for console-gaming ever since the laser/disc-drive of my PS3 stopped working many years ago when the console was still reasonably young. Just been doing PC and tabletop gaming ever since that. Your rambling is a little more lost without Jeff to counter you, heh, but as has been noted before your voice is soothing and the only other place that I hear gaming news is LAGTV and LRR's CheckPoint.
