www.myspace.com/bobbydebargeof...,{I used to think about immature things
You know like, do you love me? Do you want me?
Are you gonna call me like you said you would?
Is this really your real phone number?
But you know I'm a man now, baby, a grown man
And I came a long way, ha-ha
'Cause those fears taught me one thing
Taught me to hold on to my love}
Sometimes
I just can't help thinkin' livin' without you, baby
See, sometime
I just can't live cryin' about you, baby
I'm not worried 'bout a doggone thing
I'll take anything you bring
Although I love the sunshine
I'll still accept the rain
'Cause when I'm in my lonely mood
And I just can't be with you
I tried everything to occupy my mind
But there was no substitute
Thinking all that life would be
When you're not around
I just could not find a way
I wouldn't even know up from down
But since I've had you in my life
All these can be found
So strong and true, baby
All comin' from you
You, I call your name, girl
(Whenever I am lonely, baby)
I call your name
(When I feel the need of love)
I think of you and it eases the pain
Take away the strain
'Cause I don't worry 'bout what my people say
In my life today
Although they try to say you're not the one for me
I'll love you any way
'Cause their intentions might be cool
If what they say was true
But there's more to you than they could ever see
And they don't even know you
Thinking all that life would be
When you're not around
I just could not find a way
I wouldn't even know up from down
But since I've had you in my life
All these can be found
So strong and true, baby
Comin' from you, you, you, you, you
You, I call your name, girl
(Sometimes when I get lonely, baby)
I call your name
(When I feel the need of love)
I think of you and it eases the pain
Take away the strain
You, I call your name, girl
Sometimes I get lonely, baby
I call your name
I just can't seem to help myself for not wanting to be alone
So I call your name, I call your name, ho ho
I think of you and it eases the pain
Take away the strain
I do, you do
Birds and bees do too
I love you, you love me
And I know
Whoa oh whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa
I call your name and it eases the pain
See, I just don't feel all by myself tonight
It seems like someone else is out there
Oh, thinkin' of holding someone else tonight
So you will know where I'm comin' from
Oh, when I'm lonely, when I'm discouraged
Oh, I call your name, babe
There is no substitute for you
No one could take your place
You're more than they could ever receive
That's why I call your name
Oh, baby, when I am lonely
When I am discouraged
I call your name, girl
I think of you and it eases the pain
Take away the strain
You, I call your name, girl
(Sometimes when I get lonely, baby)
I call your name
(When I feel the need of love)
I think of you and it eases the pain
Take away the strain
Da da lee la la la la la la
(Da da lee la la la la la la)
Da da lee la la la la la la
(Da da lee la la dee da dee da)
Da da lee la la la la la la
I call your name, girl
(Da da lee la la la la la la)
I think of you and it eases the pain
(Da da la da dee da la da da da)
Take away the strain
(Da da la da da da la da da da)
(I call you, it's you, baby)
I call your name
(And you, baby, and you, whoa oh)
I call your name, girl
(You you you you you you you you you you you you you)
I think of you and it eases the pain
Take away the strain
(I call your name)
I do, you do
Birds and bees do too
I love you, you love me
And I know
Whoa oh whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa
I call your name and it eases the pain
I call your name

Switch was one of best bands of any era. Bobby ( rest in peace) had no equal. The instruments were perfect. Bass, horns and lead guitar were simply perfect. I knew they had struggles and great tragedies. Their music's greatness can never be denied. Proven by we're still listening to it today.

I believe the guy who was in the group "Cameo" his name was Wayne something? He really could have given Bobby a run for the 💰 he passed away and "Cameo" replaced him He was in the original group "Cameo" now he was a cold falsetto hands down...they both were great falsettos I'm just saying Wayne was a bad man when it came to them high notes Rip to both of these brothers.

Bobby had millions of female groupie, fans, crushes or whatever you want to call them. My sisters, cousins and their friends were crazy for him. So don’t ever think he was over looked back in the day. He was a Chris Brown when I was too young to even say it. But because of all the negativity, gay accusations and bashing of his name now, most women from the 70s/80s will not make a comment about Bobbys greatness. But believe me he was popping back then. Every female I came in contact with loved him and wanted to be with Bobby. We need to let him Rest In Peace. Honest I do believe he lived in hell on earth. Don’t think for one minute that some of your favorite entertainers today are not doing the same exact things he’s being accused of. I’m guessing they will be degrading them in 30 yrs. It doesn’t matter guys. We still love him. I still ❤️ Bobby DeBarge. I’ve never stopped listening to Switch because of the greatness I experienced in my childhood. Let’s appreciate what Bobby left us. Just enjoy this Legend, Music Icon, and king of Falsetto. AKA The Goat💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔 Peace

Respectfully, Bobby & El do not sound alike, no more than the similarities they'd acquired from being full genetic siblings, thus there will be subtle nuances in their voices that will ring familiar. Where people get confused most is bcuz they both use their falsetto voices & that alone is thee ONLY similarity. Bobby was beyond the shadow of a doubt thee BEST6. SANGER in thee entire DEBARGE family of 10 siblings. Bobby's instrument/gifting was more controlled, melodic, smooth, colorful, powerful, his range was 👌🏾, his beauty was in the EMOTION he conveyed, he was pure ABSOLUTE MAGICAL PERFECTION....THEE UNQUESTIONABLE BEST FALSETTO EVER RECORDED ‼️ 🙏🏾 WE LOVE, ADORE, CHERISH, HONOR & THANK YOU OH SO VERY MUCH BOBBY DEBARGE JR, R.I.P. 🙏🏾‼️

As the 70's came along into High School I began to buy my own albums and I found this album by Switch, I was blown away, being the same age as Bobby DeBarge I realized I how far behind I was as a striving musician, Thank you Bobby and Switch for the wake up call. I've been loving this song since first hearing it at the age of 8 or 9... been singing it and up until today i didn't realize how great the penmanship and arrangement on it truly. Shit is on a magnificent level. It's no wonder that it still sounds so great to the ears this many years after it's release...

This song take me back to elementary school. Switch was a very talented band. They are the premiere falsetto group of the late 70's. I can't decide if "I call your name" or "There'll never be" is my favorite song by the group. They paved the way for their other siblings: the DeBarges, El and Chico. RIP Bobby.

And they did it superbly so much talent in those 6 men , Bobby and Philip voices nothing can compare in my opinion. 🎶 I’ve been listening to Switch since I was a teenager, I’ll be 61 next week June 12th and I’m still listening to Switch cause They’ll never be better music 🎶 not for me anyway. I call your name is my all time favorite 😍 Rest In Paradise Bobby and Tommy DeBarge 🕊🕊🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️ Thanks for the wonderful music 🎶 🥰😍❤️#SWITCH ❤️

@@punkanellylovejoy702 Actually during the Switch "Unsung" episode, Greg Williams 'stated that the song was written by him alone and that the song was not written for Latoya Jackson....Bobby may have been thinking of Latoya whenever he performed the song but it was not originally written with Latoya in mind.' Secondly, Bobby was deeply in love with Latoya and despite being bi-sexual, it appears Bobby loved women more than men. Thirdly, Bobby wrote "You and I" which he indeed dedicated to Latoya Jackson. How do you expect us to believe you totally when we were not there when you "supposedly" had this so-called conversation with Bobby Debarge?? I'll take what you wrote with a grain of salt 🧂.
@punkanellylovejoy702

@@MsVanillaSugar you don't have to believe me. If you look at some of the old comments I left, you'll see that I have been saying this for over 4 years. 4 years ago, no one, wanted to believe me when I said Bobby was gay. Then several years later, Tommy Debarge wrote his book revealing Bobby's homosexuality. I have also been saying that this song was not written about Latoya and no one believed me. And now there's a new Unsung (2019) documentary where former members of switch are saying that this song was not written about Latoya. They will only say that the song was a spiritual thing for Bobby, ha ha I'm laughing my ass off at that. They still won't tell the truth about the true meaning behind the song. But the truth will eventually come out. I didn't lie about the other statements I made years ago and one day you will see that Im not lying about this either.
