That looks like a right faf about! These will become more interesting when the switch is old and it can be used ‘properly’!

It is but folk are putting way too much stock into the insert/eject thing, you dont currently fire games in and out of your ps3/4 do you? no you most probably have 1 or 2 games on the go thats it, at least thats what i do

Looks like a right faff around unless as you say you only keep a few XCI's on the SD. Also, the internal cart slot spring is one of the weaker internal components that is likely to be a first point of failure for those clicking the spring many times in a row for those that do and will put many ROM's on there.
@tootyuk7 ай бұрын
It is and it isnt, if you have a switch and play it, your not swapping games every 5 minutes, your more likely to be playing maybe 1 or 2 at the same time, at least thats what i do, usually its just the 1
@marcanthonyskidmore41317 ай бұрын
Most people use it for XCI files found online and just keep offline mode turned on.
@tootyuk7 ай бұрын
Exactly it only runs XCI files and then only the physically dumped ones

Interesting bit of kit and an early start into switch modding im guessing. Its like when the dreamcast was first 'hacked' you had to put a boot disc in first before people worked out putting the booter onto the game disc making the boot disc redundant....these things evolve and certainly for the better for gamers. This will be the same, it will evolve into something much simpler to execute 👍
@tootyuk7 ай бұрын
Exactly mate, im sure they'll figure a way out too

Good explanation, mate... I just assumed when seeing it earlier this year that it was just a flash cart. Would be cool to have all my games on one cart without having to keep switching physical carts - especially handy when it comes to travelling and stuff.
@tootyuk7 ай бұрын
Yeah thats its selling point, although in reality its just a valid front to be able to load roms, but its very much down to you and your own risk and going online with it. at £80 all your games on a single card if it gets lost/stolen youve only lost that not the originals
@16bitbrit7 ай бұрын
@@tootyuk Any danger of getting banned if you get a pre-owned version of a game that someone has previously uploaded to one of these cards?
@steve362077 ай бұрын
Never heard of this before toots buddy, could be time consuming if you had a load of games on there to switch between them, but like you said if its only a few games it wont be too bad, i think we will start seeing more stuff coming for the switch soon as enters its last days...... and showing wonderboy on your switch, thats a good start to my day 😂

I think people are focusing on the eject/insert thing a bit too much, your not going to be hopping between switch games every 5 minutes (at least i wont be)

As you say mate it’s an option for some. It’ll surely trigger some further devices. I wonder if the arrival of the “switch 2” will make Nintendo turn more of a blind eye to more outright everdrive type devices. Probably not 😂

In theory it’s seems great but kind of fiddly and with any 3rd party hardware/ software I think Nintendo wouldn’t give a second thought to bricking your machine which worries me. I don’t know enough about it to be honest but seems much better than those bricks you can buy and strap on to your machine holding about a dozen carts at around 35 quid.
@tootyuk7 ай бұрын
Yep its not a silver bullet solution and if you use it "not as described" and go online then yes a very real chance your machine will be banned, they wont brick them, they'll just stop it going online, they wont remove your account as thats bad for business when they can make you buy another machine!
@HyperTriggerEx7 ай бұрын
It don’t seem too bad to be fair, yeah a bit fiddly and a bit half baked, but it’s a start. The thing is the copy protection and online elements to modern consoles make this a bit of a minefield I bet. They are available on Aliexpress, though who knows if they’re the real deal or clones. Well it look to be suitable for your needs, so a win win I’d say. Take it easy Stu.
@tootyuk7 ай бұрын
Im guessing this is supposed to be for the mig switch lol yeah the ali express are clones at best and i think were more expensive! it works im not wanting 100's of games and to flick through and chop and change them after 5 mins (which seems to be peoples annoyance with that you cant do that?)

If you go on holiday and don't want to carry 10 carts you can dump them and have them all on one . That's basically what it can do . Save space......but carts are tiny so it's a bit worthless as it stands

That's a nice proof of concept but it's a faff having to take it out and put it back in. May as well take it out and put a different one back in. I guess it's good if you're out and about, not having to carry the originals. Plus it keeps them safe and you won't lose them. 🤷
