This is my favorite solo game. It's got just the right level of randomness to make it fun. It's ideal to pull out right before bedtime. I wish the box were half the height, though.

This was the review that tipped me over the edge to buy the game. It also made me nostalgic for the Meeple Overboard days. I’m glad Chris and Wendy are having success with TDT but I miss having their podcast to listen to.

I've never been more interested in a co-op than what you've described...and that was before Wendy confirmed that, indeed, there is a challenge! Buuuuut... it's still a co-op LOL

At 2:53 minutes, you state, ". . . this allows you to choose a color [die] - so perhaps gray - and it allows you to roll the die and move ALL [emphasis ALL] of the trains on the board of that color ......" Based on the rule book, page 4 bottom right, TRAIN MOVEMENT CARD. "As active player, you may CHOOSE ANY ONE TRAIN to move ....... " emphasis, any ONE train; not ALL the trains of that color. Your rules would make victory easy (as I own this game). The way the official rules specify, it makes the game extremly hard to win. Craig

Good catch, I did misspeak there. You roll the die for all trains when the event card is flipped over, so I mixed it up in my explanation. Our rules overviews are to give a general idea of the game, so hopefully that doesn't cause anyone confusion. ~Chris

Yeah, this game is pretty dang hard to win if played correctly. Many people on BGG forums have made house rules for bringing out new trains. Like roll 3 dice, and pick 2. Luckily, you can scale the game if you want by adding more time tokens, or reducing the amount of cargo to move. But Lady Luck can be horrible to you in this game. We played this game 4 times in one night, and lost all 4 games. Some very early. Hard to get folks to come back to it.

I prefer my cooperative games to be 4 out of 5. You know, for trolling purposes. (i see what the publisher did there but a consumer looking at the box might not get much use out of those abstractions)

Great review. Just picked this one up last week. One correction at 3:00 you only move a single train when you play an action card to roll the die.

The train lines are a massive turn off. They don’t like right.
