For me, this game could get better gameplay wise, and I'd be fully supportive of it, but at the end of the day, Switch Sports will never be a complete game, or feel like a true Nintendo Sports game, for two primary reasons that will never be solved: 1) Nintendo didn't release this game finished upon release; this reflects their new business strategy that they have been practicing since 2019, from New Horizons, to Strikers, to this game, and that leaves a bitter taste in my mouth I will never get over (alongside many fans, I'm sure, including our little corner of the internet) and will eventually bite Nintendo back someday. 2) The whole identity of Nintendo Sports is not present in this game, and no, not necessarily because Wuhu Island isn't present (although that is a shame) but because Miis have been pushed aside, no longer the face of Nintendo's original family game franchise, no longer the game of Nintendo's UI, but just some relic of the past you can half-assedly come back to if you feel like it, but we (Nintendo) will barely acknowledge it. Instead, the branding of Switch Sports is led by these Xbox Live looking characters who have literally 0 identity of their own and don't look unique like the Miis did in the slightest. This takes away the heart of the Nintendo Sports franchise completely, and replaces it with something that feels third-party, and at that, soulless. Simply put, there is a severe lack of consistency present and disregard for the iconography of the Miis and what they represent. Both 1) and 2) reflect the Post-Iwata corporatisation of Nintendo, and for those two facets alone, I will never appreciate Switch Sports on any fundamental level.

I'm afraid there's some sad news that just happened today. Nintendo announced that this week's new sets of attires will be the last and next week they will start a rerun for the attires sets especially for fans who missed getting it back when the game launched nearly a year ago. Still I don't know if this will hurt any chances of new sports content.
