I got mine about a week ago and am in love with it out of the box. I'm still playing with the activation distance but I love it. It also matches my PC which currently resides in a Fractal North XL.

Wow! The white with wood sides version looks amazing! It totally matches the fractal terra aesthetic that i enjoy as a gamer in my late 30s trying to outgrow the giant box full of rgb aesthetic.

The software is updated with more features online now for gaming. I've been using it to play games like Valorant, CS2, and Marvel rivals, and it's been great so far. Snap tap and last key press have worked perfectly. I wouldn't put too much into 8k polling rate. It's more marketing than real-world impact in games. A lot of people still use their wooting 60he over the 80he even with the polling rate differences because they prefer the 60 layout. The polling rate does not impact enough to make them switch over.

That is totally true. Even the CEO of the Wooting company told it in the interview with Hipyo Tech. They did the 8 kHz polling rate because they know gamers have higher number = better mentality. The most improvement comes from the rappid trigger feature and maybe SOCD.

Got mine around a week ago and it's the only keyboard I used since it arrived (and I have like 12 of these things). I'm really liking the typing feel of this board. These switches are smooth like Gateron Smoothies, but they have the firmness of WS Morandis. Loving this board!

11:55, I doubt Keychron is lying about the weight savings here, at least not to save a buck. Making those cutouts in a mould makes the tooling a whole lot more expensive. Sure, they save a few cents on each keyboard, but they'd be tripling the tooling cost and, theoretically, the die would wear out quicker. It's likely weight savings was a desired consequence, but I think it was a technical necessity to make the manufacturing more repeatable. A consistent wall thickness on injection moulded and resin parts can be important to ensure that the part actually comes out right. If you don't use a roughly consistent thickness, you end up with warping and weird internal stresses, especially with massive volumes like that part is. My 2c, anyway. Carry on.

I just got mine today and so far I like it. Previously I had a roccat vulcan tkl pro and this feels/sounds so much better. I got the black special edition. I wish the RGB was brighter and had shine through keycaps but other than that its been great.

The tri mode connectivity is really nice for use as just a keyboard for work. You should have a look at the NuPhy Halo65 HE. It has a nice typing experience but is more gamer focused and I think is likely the best budget option to really challenge Wooting in the HE keyboard space. I have a Halo65 HE and I really like the way it sounds and feels for day to day typing.

6:10 Funny how Keychron's fanciest looking keyboard is the cheapest on their website because the Special Edition with Rosewood Sides is $140, which is cheaper than the rest of their Hall Effect Magnetic Switch Keyboards which don't look as elegant and are missing the wood siding. And for some reason we can get it custom but I don't see an option to select the keycap color (just the overall color scheme including the frame) even for the custom boards, despite them selling keycaps.

My only objection is the rather cramped layout, eg with F keys not distinguished... I expect from HE switches to be placed in a compact, gaming oriented layout. The wooden accents are certainly attractive in combination with the solid typing sound. Finally it comes to personal taste and needs.

I dont mind a lot of the he switches being made different when some one gets them right everyone will hop on with a clone design like mx switches. This will just make it get their faster hopefully. As they stand currently i haven't found one i can say i like, they all have some flaws and strengths. These have been some of the best sounding ones i have listened to or tried myself. And like most tech these day i have learned to let other beta test it till it matures more.

I have an IPI rain65 HE. Under 100 on Ali. Very nice build, cool he options for gaming, very nice aluminium case... I hate it for typing though, 3.5mm light linear on aluminium plate is the worst imo!

the layout is awesome ! The F-keys are easier to use because they're a lot closer to the number keys, and aligned with them too. However, the keyboard is hard to find in Europe and the cable is on the left (I'm left handed so it would take my mouse space)
