It used to be that you would get the Wither effect forever even on Normal difficulty. The prevailing strategy ends up abandoning the use of potions and just carrying Milk buckets. Add that to the Wither having double the health and your game lagging from all the broken blocks, and you can see why people fear the Bedrock Wither.

When I first tried to fight the Wither, I was unaware that Java and Bedrock had different mechanics. Because of this, I tried to fight the Wither underground like in everyone’s guides. This is where the difficulty comes in, as the Bedrock slaughters you up close due to withering. I think the reason that bedrock is considered harder is because they are treated as the same boss, with the same strategies.

Part of the issue, is that Java has better Regeneration mechanics. You heal faster when your saturation is full in Java vs Bedrock.

When they redesigned the bedrock wither they wanted it to be a proper boss fight. The dragon was often done to easily so Mojang wanted something that would be near impossible to defeat without endgame equipment. Basically expect to die unless you have milk, totems, or a resistance beacon.

The main difference is that you can just trap the Java wither in an underground hole and it will just do nothing, allowing for you to farm nether stars even with iron tools.

They actually nerfed the bedrock wither in one of the minor updates after 1.16 I think. Essentially, there was a bug that caused the wither effect to ignore the protection enchantment on your armor, so prot 4 was basically useless.

He would tell me horror stories of times when he and his other friends would fight the wither on hard difficulty. When I first fought it on hard, I had enchanted netherite and an inventory full of potions and milk buckets. There were three of us in total fighting it and it took us a while to kill it. I used up most of my potions and a few totems. It was absolutely crazy. The fact you took it down solo pre-nerf with suboptimal armor is insane.

Most people on their first wither fight try to fight it underground. This works extremely well on Java edition, but if you try the same thing on Bedrock, everything goes really badly. The wither instantly breaks blocks whenever it takes damage, dropping items that lag your game, and it makes tunnels around itself at different heights that you really can't get around easily. It hides around corners or up in the ceiling where you can't even shoot it with your bow. Sometimes it even uncovers lava that you fall in, or you forget that you're fighting it in a higher burrow it made, and end up falling down to the bottom and getting your stuff blown up after you die, or it falling into lava. I found that fighting it on the surface is many times easier, and that because most Minecraft KZbinrs play on Java, and recommend fighting it underground, everyone has this collective opinion based on their first few wither fights underground, flashbacks to inventories full of milk buckets, cows in boats in caves getting blown up, losing multiple sets of armour and tools to explosions or lava... Just don't fight it underground. A fun way I discovered a while back on my SMP is to get a riptide 3 impaling 5 trident, elytra, and about a stack of golden apples, wait for rain, go out into the middle of the ocean, spawn the wither, and literally ram it with your trident repeatedly while eating the golden apples whenever you get blown up. Because it is raining, the impaling 5 on the trident really increases the damage dealt to the wither, because entities in the rain also have impaling applied to them - another thing Bedrock Edition has that java doesn't :) About the items not dropping from the blocks the wither breaks - This is a great idea, but because Bedrock edition TNT doesn't drop all items from blocks blown up (Yes, we still don't have this on Bedrock), many people use withers in wither cages to break the logs from their wood farm or cobblestone from their generators - Especially with technical farms because the wither can break a huge area around itself, instantly.

Things to know- 1) people say bedrock wither is more difficult becuz they fight it in a cave. This is a java strat and will almost certainly guarantee death in bedrock.There is no space to move and the charge attack creates insane lag 2) It seemed easier in your case becuz there were so many other mobs around to distract the wither, if you're alone then its just like java(over your shoulders). 3)The sky colour changing is not aesthetic. The light level actually drops to allow undead mobs to spawn but bedrock spawing is cr*p so it doesn't matter. 4) my way to fight wither- in the middle of an ocean with frost walker. open area and no block lag

A bow's aim on bedrock edition is actually slightly delayed relative to where your crosshair is. Its nothing to do with hitboxes or anything, its just there is a glitch causing your aim to be targetting at where your crosshair was a millisecond ago. This doesnt just affect bows, anything you do that involves moving your mouse will have a delayed target, even mining.

Tips to fight the wither: 1: use healing arrows with a power 5 bow. The healing arrows act as harming arrows since the wither is an undead mob 2: fight in the open. This makes block lag at 0, alternatively fight it underground with tile drops off. 3: have overpowered items like totems and full netherite. This makes it way easier to fight. 4: strength and swiftness 2 buffs. This makes defeating the wither pie if you follow all previous tips.

Sure but personally I find most potion effects outside of the regen/absorption from golden apples equally as not great. Spam clicking with a smite V diamond sword is usually more then enough damage once it's on the ground that strength is unnecessary and since golden apples stack it also helps mitigate the issue you cited with inventory space. Of course if you don't have enough gold apples you could simply go the potion route and use the regen to mitigate the wither damage and simply use milk once the fight is over so your aren't stuck with the wither effect. But that just comes down to how prepared you want to be before you fight it. And if you have enough time and resources even the bedrock wither is child's plays so that's on the person fighting it.

On Java you have the quick healing which is why the bedrock wither effect is so dangerous, also bedrock bows have less drop so they're technically more accurate but a change in the drop like that can be devastating to a player who's used to Java bows.

I'm fairly certain that potions in general last longer on bedrock hard, which is why witches and wither skeletons can be kinda annoying to deal with as well, a witch hits you with poison and you just have to sit there for 30 seconds at half a heart until you heal.

@@breawen hard mode isn't hard, it really only makes poison and wither effect more annoying. The two effects practically force you into a hole for how long they last and how regen is. Bedrock eating regen takes one second to heal half a heart while poison takes it away, so no point in eating. Java regen quickly heals some hearts after eating, so easier to deal with those status'

Useful tip for the Bedrock Wither: Anyone who has defeated a Wither already but wants to fight more Withers easily for more Nether Stars, use the 1st beacon you obtain to give yourself the "Resistance II" buff and place it near the area where you are gonna fight the other Wither. This resistance buff paired with a good set of Diamond or Netherite armor will mean the Wither effect is almost completely negated. I was able to easily defeat 2 Withers at the same time using this on Hard difficulty and honestly think it would be possible to even fight 3 or more Withers at the same time if using potions and golden apples during the fight.

As a bedrock player, the bows do more damage the longer you charge. It takes about 1.2 seconds to full charge. And we tend to take the wither into the end, and kill it in the portal frame.

I love the idea of it deleting blocks instead of breaking them. It gives one more element to your planning phase that needs to be considered, reduces lag, and eliminates the downside of picking up a ton of dirt when trying to recover in your inventory. It would also give the player a sense of permanence to your actions within the game world.

Honestly, doing this on controller is way harder. As the controller’s sensitivity is stupidly slow (even on max), doing these quick turns to do a hit and run with a bow is very hard, especially when trying to do a 180 turn or just trying to look up. I think most of the bedrock players generally play on a controller, since there’s console support, hence is why they say it’s hard, and I agree with this. The sensitivity compared to most games is just slow and lazy like. If you beat the Wither on hard + controller without dying, you deserve a congrats. Edit: It has been long since I’ve commented, but I think my opinion has changed. It is pretty easy killing the Wither, I’ve done it ten times in my survival world (no potions) with the help of maxed Netherite armor, 1 golden apple, a bow, and a Smite V sword. Basically just shoot the Wither till half health and smack it to oblivion with the sword afterwards.

Things to know The amount of blocks broken by the wither cause lag, especially when those poor fools use the java strat of fighting it underground When it reaches half, it explodes AGAIN and can spawn 0-3 wither skeletons The sky darkens for more undead mobs to spawn, but they don't because bedrock spawns are broken It was easier for you because there where mobs around to distract it The rush does insane damage It shoots 2 different kinds of skulls, the first are back skulls that travel quickly, then there is a blue skull, it travels slow but does double damage, the wither will shoot them in this order; black, black, blue. Over and over again The skulls can be reflected like ghast fireballs, they wont hurt the wither though

X) Maybe a good way to fix the lag problem is to make specifically dirt blocks destroyed by the Wither disappear, because those are the ones that become problematic but having it erase everything might be too much, not to mention that players tend to use it for wooden farms and stuff. Also, I really love the concept of making him spawn wither skeletons. I'd say that should be buffed. Make it do it several times throughout the health bar, in larger amounts each time and with a higher player detection than those naturally spawned to make the player actually have to stop to deal with them before continuing the fight like with classic minion-summoning bosses. Maybe the boss can stop attacking but become invulnerable until you kill all the skeletons?

The wither fight on Bedrock has been rebalanced in 1.19.10. No more cracked wither. Fun fact, both Minecraft editions have the same wither effect and duration on hard mode, it’s just that the bedrock wither effect ignored the Protection enchantment. If you fight the Java wither without Protection, it’s probably a similar experience as this, except waaaay less fun. Fighting it with optimal gear will probably makes for a much more similar experience to Java now and if not a considerably easier one.

One thing you did not note during the bedrock wither fight is that you have to pay a lot of attention to the skulls it shoots. It shoots both BLUE and BLACK skulls. A black skull is more common and behaves normally. However, there are also blue skulls. If you get hit by a blue skull, it is wayy worse than if you get hit by black. However, you can also deflect a blue skull back at the wither with your sword, just like a ghast with a fireball, but you can't do that for a black skull.

You can also trap him in BR if you head to the Nether and use the ceiling. You just need blocks placed under him in the right configuration to trap him in place and you've got an easy Nether Star. You can do it on the central End island, too, but the Nether is, of course, faster.

tbh as a Bedrock player, i'd give the Bedrock Edition Wither a 7/10 The only challenging thing is the low frame rate. It's WAY too overhyped by most people, even though it DOES have 2x the health of the Java Edition Wither which means that the Bedrock Wither has 600 hp. Tip for Bedrock Edition wither fights : - bring milk buckets and instant health splash potions - smite swords are always recommended - don't fight it near things you care about - try to bring a flint and steel to burn the items if the frame rate gets too low - try to find a flat and open area to help dodge the skulls - if you have the resources, make instant health tipped arrows for extra safety if you want - never fight it underground, unless you have resistance beacons and fire resistance potions (in case of lava) - fighting the Wither underground is not recommended because there's a lot of gravel underground Edit : i have to give some praises for the Java Edition Wither, which is the fact that it can regenerate

Java players typically use the underground long hallway method for killing the Wither the first time they play it. The Wither's Charge just renders that method unviable. Fighting it on the plains is probably the best method. And I've seen some do it in the water

About the wither effect, it is actully fair for it to be 45 seconds but there is a bug where the wither effect effects you as if you dont have prot 4. If the bug was fixed then with maxed prot 4 you would take about 0-0.5 hearts a wither effect tick. With regen it will be fully countered

The wither fight in bedrock edition: 1. Upon noticing a player or mob, the wither flies to a random location and hovers in place. It shoots 3 black wither skulls and one blue wither skull before flying to another location. The time between each shot decreases as the wither loses health. On Normal difficulty or higher, if the wither has targeted an entity but cannot find a location to path find to, it shoots random blue skulls in a random direction along with the skulls directed toward the target. 2. At half health, it causes a large explosion that spawns 3-4 wither skeletons (except on Easy difficulty), as well as gaining wither armor. Instead of flying to a random location, it dashes toward its target, destroying blocks and damaging mobs in its path. It also fires up to 4 skulls per burst: three black skulls followed by one blue skull. 3. It has different spawn and death animations, both of which involve the wither exploding. Wither roses always drop as an item when the wither kills a mob. The wither rose inflicts the Wither effect for a couple of seconds when stepped on. 4. The sky light level drops to 11 and dark clouds appear from the moment the wither spawns until it is dead, preventing zombies, skeletons, and drowned from burning in sunlight. 5. On Easy difficulty, the wither does not inflict the wither effect or summon wither skeletons.

Like, all the end crystals, you're crosshair can be on them and the arrow will hit, where as in Java, you need to do some angle some shots. Also, enderpearls can get you to end island to end island without a block being placed to get you closer to the island, where as in Java, you need to bridge out a bit for the longer chasms. I prefer Bedrock for both of these things, but there's probably some merit to Java's one. I don't know what, but there is probably. Though I am a Bedrock player

It's all about what you're used to. I grew up with Bedrock. I've been playing it since before squids and bats were in the game. Also before infinite and flat worlds. God my first time playing on my bedrock world was the worst, I did the wither boss under my BASE AND OMG IT WAS LITERALLY GONE XD

Bedrock wither feels like a great boss. Dear java friends I am not saying ur wither is bad or it isn't like a boss, I play bedrock and I have completed both dragon and wither fights on a mobile so I know they can be defeated it's just a lot different. Bedrock dragon is strong (mainly it's breath will break armor and do alot of damage ) but it can be one cycled . Wither boss is kinda fair in it's ai fight because it keeps a distance giving u chances to run a bit away, take cover ,etc. But as he said in vedio that wither effect is like just...... U can set a becon but be careful don't break that . Many people fight wither underground and that's where the dash attack is extremely deadly , it will break a million blocks making fps and tps extremely low and also deals a lot of damage. Indeed if u have good amount of golden apples, potions,becon power (mainly resistance ) with ton of milk bucket . And here is a tip keep a extra set of armor or xp bottle if u have mending especially if u fight under ground because it breaks your armor sometimes very quickly and bow is weird but a Max out bow is just very op so u can use that.. conclusion - that wither effect kills u . And keep moving /running as u saw in vedio otherwise if u get hit twice it gives wither 2 and that's ... I don't need to explain
