At 4:20, Johnny Cades switchblade was a model called a "shellpuller" . The width of the crossguard was the perfect width for extracting shotgun shells from a gun barrel after they were fired : )

Yeah, but Shell-Pullers were also in different sizes. .12 .16 .20 and .28 Gauge Shotgun Shells. I don’t think they made them for .10 Ga. Shotguns. The guards were different sizes. You can’t pull a .16 or .20 Ga. Shell with a .28 Ga. Shell-Puller. They were also usually Lever-Fired “Leveretto / Leverletto,” I’ve seen them referred to as both. When the automatic ejectors for break-action shotguns were invented these were antiquated a bit. Unless you had an older Shotty.

This is the ONLY reason why switchblades have a bad rep and are banned in many countries. Some idiot law maker saw a movie like this and freaked out and then said 'we need to ban them! I'd rather be stabbed to death by a normal fixed-blade knife and not a switchblade'. Ask yourself this one question. If in RL you were attacked by someone with a knife, would you really care if it a switchblade or some razor-sharp butcher knife? I'd be just as concerned regardless of the steel used.
